    I'm curious why it is that Ares won this poll very easily, and yet in the PvP events, you see 9 Thor/OBWs for every 1 Ares/OBW

    Ares is a newer character and is not given out in Prologue/Shield training. People like Thor better and are more likely to upgrade him while going all like 'Who the heck is Ares?' - I didn't know about Marvel Ares before, either.

    I'm curious why it is that Ares won this poll very easily, and yet in mischiefmaker's Character Rankings Thor ranked at #10 and while Ares was #12.

    The power of popularity! But seriously, while Ares can be faster, his green has a serious disadvantage (how do you use it against a Thorverine or a Punisher/Patch team, for example?), his yellow will usually leave him hurt, his red is super-conditional and you want to use it a la Juggernaut after using yellow repeatedly. Thor's powers are AI-friendly and do not hurt your team. I voted Ares lower myself because I dislike Juggernaut characters in general.

    Thor by himself is probably not stronger than Ares, but Thor synergizes better with any strong green character, and there's a whole mess of them out there.

    Most teams I face have only 1 Green user or one I can just have Ares eat and just brush off. So free Green is generally a non-issue. As I mentioned, I am planning to just finish both. My Ares is finished and maxed. Thor is still being built and needs a re-spec (He is 5/5/2). I can easily swap between the two situationally.

    The last few weeks I have been using both. Thor, Ares plus Falcon/Doom/whoever the third is that the event dictates. Seems to have worked very well for me. I use Ares green to take out the opponents OBW/Storm/Falcon (they are bound to have one of those) whilst building up yellow and red. Then if I want multiple attacks I use Ares red, if not Thor red. Normally at that point I have 1.5 guys left and have a yellow ready to go which I tend to use as Ares to finish off the tank, but sometimes use Thor to then go into CtS.

    Sometimes it goes against me and Onslaught green given to the opp ends in multiple CtS combos against me, but generally I have have taken out the other guys before it becomes an issue.

    I'm still new to this game really, but that team has been by far the most fun to play for me.

    I agree, I have used them together quite a bit, especially when I can pick my own third or if the required third is a decent support to begin with. I like being able to tailor my attack to exactly what is necessary at any given time. Also, they split tanking red, green and yellow between them, so it's not always the same guy taking all the hits.
