Lots of secondary objectives

Typically events give 5 points for winning and 1 each for the first and secondary objectives OR 4 for winning, 2 for first and 1 for second.

How about 3 for a win and four 1 point objectives.

They will all be very different and often oppose each other so you can only complete 2 or 3 of the 4 depending which route you take. I would even like to see 6 different secondary objectives so the objectives outweigh the cost of the win.

These 'many objective' events would only be for non-coalition events so there is no pressure to get them all, but to make the player feel they have options and many ways to build and play their decks. You can also add 2-4 more objectives to each story mode node to get the same effect.

I love that idea, so you should be expecting people to hate on it soon.

Why can't it apply for coalition events BTW? Shouldn't the more competitive events be harder?

Agreed.. Eventually I just get fed up with the "Summon 5 vehicles" (especially when the 4 count from Saheeli doesn't count) and "Energize 5 gems" (especially when my deck isn't build that way and when I try to make it so, the energize cards never appear) and eventually just go for the 4 pt kill since I know I'm not making top 10 let alone 1-5 in these events.

At least having the option of a couple more objectives would make it go a little faster, though, as OhBoy has already stated, I'm sure people will hate on the idea for the same reason (too many objectives = hard to perfect score). icon_e_wink.gif (we could be wrong, though... )

One of the things I liked about Avacyn's Madness--which I've posted on before--is the fact that you had mutually exclusive objectives. It led to a "choose your path" type of strategy which I thought was awesome and refreshing. It's a shame that they abandoned that philosophy, as it's far more positive and player-centric than the overly narrow and tedious deckbuilding objectives that seem to be the recent norm.

I like this idea. Both for individual and coalition events.
I also like the no secondary objective concept as well.

Mixing many objective events in with no secondary objective events and regular progression events would make things more interesting in my opinion.

As far as this idea applies to coalition events and perfect scores well, getting a perfect score shouldn't be easy.

Here are all the existing possible objectives from events and story mode.
You can have 2 of the same type provided there is a gap between them (ex. lose 2 or less creatures AND lose 6 or more creatures)

    X or more/less HP remaining
    X or more/less damage taken
    cast X or more/less creatures
    cast X or more/less spells
    cast X or more/less supports
    Energize X or more gems
win in X or more/less rounds
    lose X or more/less creatures
    kill X or more/less creatures
summon X or more (specific creature type)

since there can be 2 of each of these 9 depending if its a more than or less than objective, thats 18 to choose from which can all be randomly generated for the 4+ objectives. The summon X of a specific creature type needs to look at your PW color since certain creatures are only available in certain colors.

I just wanted to point out that there is variation within those subtypes as well. For example, there are objectives for finishing with 75 or more life, and for finishing with 90 or more life, depending on the event. Thus, there are technically a greater number of objectives that can be pulled from.
