It feels like the vision for the game is slowly creeping farther and farther away from a place where you can be truly competitive and F2P. Of course, it all depends on whether or not any truly disgustingly broken new characters are released, but regardless, it seems like there are getting to be fewer and fewer ways to finish 3* characters.

Obviously they are pushing the **** out of 3* Cap. He's the most successful 2* and a super iconic character.

Not sure why this is being posted now... purchasing tokens is the worst it has ever been and then have given out 3* caps like candy.

Did I, at any point, mention the difficulty of acquiring new characters? Or was I speaking to the difficulty of acquiring covers for older 3*. I'm pretty sure it was the latter. Sorry if I was unclear, I just feel that changes to the game have made it more difficult to find needed covers for older 3* characters.

I can sort of agree with this, in that by 'creeping away' you mean, it hasn't actually reached that point yet, but it's going there.

On the other hand, many people agree that the newer characters are some of the most powerful (with a couple of exceptions) so even if you can't finish your IM40 covers or GSBW covers you will be fine. Cmags is the one older character that still should have very high demand for covers, and I personally feel like Punisher is the very best starting point for new 3* transitioners, but other than that I don't think newer players will be missing a whole lot if they can only easily get a hold of the newest covers. It makes collecting IM40 era covers more of a labor of love for those who really enjoy the character than a necessity for building a team.

True but it is hard to quell that desire to collect and then try characters out. Some of them really don't come into their own till they have most covers so we may never get a chance to make our own informed decisions about whether we prefer a maxed GSBW to a BP, we just have to take the forums word that we aren't missing out on much...

I think the LR token nerf **** 3* character completion in a serious way. They may be compensating for this by giving out a large number of covers for new 3*s shortly after release, but for older 3* characters, completion just got a good bit more tedious, unreliable, and/or expensive.

Yeah...I still don't have a Red CMags cover, so other than unbelievably-specific luck I don't see me finishing him anymore.

yeah, this -

it's not impossible to truck through the LR's with my roster (slowly building threes, but only Spidey is above 100), but i'm right in the NOTsweet spot of tough competition without a roster that reliably wins. Plus, not knowing which cover i'm going to get for my trouble makes it barely worth it
