Duplicate characters switching between matches

Characters of which I have more than one rostered are switching to the lowest covered version after a match ends. This is happening for my 2* Storm in the current PVE (one at lvl. 133 and one at lvl.15) and with my dupe 3* Cap in the Lightning Rounds (one at lvl. 221 and one at lvl. 40) and this is getting very annoying.

It's been happening for a few days now and having to search in my roster for a correct version of (especially) a 2* character is getting to be a chore by now, but I didn't see a topic about this issue in the first 2 pages in the Bugs & Technical Issues. If there is one and I overlooked it I apologise, but I can hardly believe I'm the only one having this issue.

    Hey there StevO-J, unfortunately what you are experiencing is a known issue. The developers have been working on a possible fix, however there is no current eta as to when it will be made available.
