Iso-8: spend it or save it?

Right now I'm making the transition to a three * roster. My hulk is lvl 72 with the soft cap at 92, my Psylocke is lvl 93 with the soft cap at 102. I also have a fully covered lazy shieldbro at lvl 67 and punisher soft capped at lvl 79. My question is this. People talk about saving Iso and waiting to spend it on one character. But is it better to wait at my stage or to just lvl them up as the iso comes?

The only reason I'll build up a bank of ISO is to see what's coming around the corner. A PvP tourney or PvE event might require or feature a certain character that I could drop 10-20 or more levels into to help me succeed in getting placement rewards. Other than that, I see no reason to save up a massive pool of ISO as long as you know you're going to use the characters you're spending it on.0

You should save iso until you can level the character you want to level to a point where you can actually use that character in pvp/pve. For example, im guessing that your current a team is mn mags/c. Storm/psylocke and you arent really using the hulk too often. This means that the 50k iso you put into the hulk is largely wasted, since you could have used that iso getting someone that has the covers to a usable level (shieldbro closer to 141 for instance).0

My rule is save until it becomes a necessity to win.
The exception to the rule is for characters I like.0 -

True that was my go to team. But for first avenger I've been trying out hulk/daken and punisher/mags mn and I'm liking the results. I've gotten almost ten defensive wins between the pairings compared to maybe one or two with mn mags and c storm. My question still is do I keep that reserve bank and occasionally spend the iso or do I just spend it all?0 -

Only spend it all if you have enough to level a character to its max. Otherwise, only spend it occasionally.0 -
Spend it on who you want when you want. It's your ISO and you need it now!!!
If I could, I would save all of my ISO for Lazy Daken. But I can't, because I like to level people up.0 -
I tend to leave characters at base levels unless they are either featured, fully covered and I want them or I end up with an over abundance of ISO (which just doesnt happen). I save my iso until the amount of ISO I can dump into the character will have a meaningful impact, such as maxing a 2* or pushing a 3* over ~100.0

Where's Milkrain to sing the dirty praises of spending your ISO on standard token pulls?0

Yeah with your team you are looking at either getting psy to get soft cap or hammering it all into cap to get him into your main rotation and he is definitely worth it and will likely be buffed in. The next event.0

in general, i spend about 65% of the iso i earn every week. the rest of it stays in the stash in case i need to dump some into a boosted character for an event.
i tend to have between 35-50 K ISO stashed from week to week.0 -
If I'm actively levelling a specific character then I like to spend the ISO as it comes in but only when I have enough to put a full level on at a time. At the moment I'm saving to give LDaken a boost so the only ISO I'll spend for now is for specific character boosts for events.0

I spend it a level at a time on my A team or current featured characters.0

In my short time here with MPQ (>50 days played) It seems like there are 2 scenarios
Scenario 1
If you want 3 main chars that you plan on only playing, bump them to 141. Fair warning. it could lead to scaling problems in other events where you do not have access to those heroes (due to previous success with those characters). But for standard pvp events you will have a solid core of heroes to work with. So some pros and some cons.
Scenario 2
Just dump into the flavor of the week, you will have a very weak roster for weeks/months to come. Sure you will do okay in events, but you will not have a premier lineup for end game PvP and may have to spend hero points on things like shields to prevent easy pickings from the elitist players to stay in the top 10 of events.
So it's a fine line to walk.
But my assessment could be wrong due to my newness.0 -
I generally try not to put any Iso into any 3* unless doing so makes them a viable character. Usually, this means keeping them as low as possible until I can push them to L100+ in one go. Sometimes, it means putting 10-20 levels into them if they're significantly buffed in an event.
Even before I had a few L100+ chars, I had 5 near-maxed/maxed 2* chars, so I don't see the utility of leveling an unbuffed 3* to the L50-90 range.0 -

I've got a couple of 3*s soft-capped in that range just because even though they're a bit weaker than my lvl 100 3*s and maxed 2*'s, they're still good enough to beat most opponents so I can swap them in during a push instead of having to heal the chip damage my A and B teams have taken0 -
I think you need to do both. Much like a job you have to spend some it on bills, but you need to save some for later. Use a notepad or something and save x% for what you get. I find an easy way for me, if I get 140 free Iso from someone I go and spend 100 (like trying to stop on even numbers at a gas pump) on a character and save 40. If I get 250, I drop 150 on a guy right away and slowly build that bank up. Then when a featured event comes you can dump that ISO into a needed dude0
