Should I wait for a "classic" legendary vault?

Like many out there, I am one of the players that has every 4* in the game but a very limited amount championed (just one for me!). The new vaulting system was obviously designed to help players on the ends of the progress spectrum (new players have a better time concentrating on the newest 4stars and highly-decorated players can focus on just one or two 4stars they need to complete while also getting the newest ones more often).

A couple of my 4stars are "within reach" with 10-12 covers and a couple only have one cover, but the majority are in "limbo" now: they have 4-8 covers, which means I'll never favorite them as it will take too long to get them to 13. I don't want to leave them behind (as I've been working on building them for literal years), so I'm HOPING there is a classic legendary vault coming along. Add in the facts that I've pulled ONE bonus 4star cover after probably about 30 LT draws in the past month and just popped my Heroic 10-pack for the season and got 10 2stars!

Does anyone have any details on when we might know if they'll "fix" this system or when we might hear an update on it? I'm seriously thinking of hoarding my LTs and CP until I get news on this. What do you think? Any advice?

No. Based on what Brigby said they were considering here it doesn't sound like they are planning to change the LTs at all.

Select the heroes that are in reach as your bonus heroes until you finish them off. Fight like hell in PvP/PvE for the others. Eventually you'll get there, and in some cases faster than you would have otherwise.

Of the new 4* right now I'm chasing Peggy and have her at 5/1/4 with three red dying on the vine. I'm saving up 240 CP (cost of two covers) and have her set as my sole bonus. I'll spend every 20 CP after 240 in hopes of pulling a (non-red) Peggy cover from a pack (while she's still in them) or bonus. Once I'm able to champ her, I'll hoard until I know what the developers' plans are. It'd suck if they actually "get it right" and implement a system that works, only to find I spent everything on a broken system.

So short answer, I'd say yes.

(Bonus effect: the developers don't like hoarding or people not spending so you purchasing less implicitly sends the message that the system doesn't work).

Yes, but they may implement something that works more for people in our situation and if they do and it costs CP, he'll be happy he saved it. There is no penalty for hoarding (it's why so many people do it) unless you are in my situation and really want a character before they are walled off.

1 of the 3 options was rotating 4*s in the packs, if they went with this then it might be beneficial to save.
The other 2 options were new vaults/stores, but neither price nor method was mentioned. If those cost CP, then yes, if they don't then no.

I so far have been finding that despite my distaste of the change, it isn't as bad or 'impossible' to get vaulted 4* as I thought when it launched. I do think it's harder, but far from impossible. Since the change I've championed Ant-Man and am saving up ISO for Star-Lord, both vaulted.

Ultimately it's up to you on how important those 4*s are to you. If you have to have one of those 'limbo' classics and your enjoyment of the game will be affected if you don't get them. Then wait. If it's not that big of deal to you then don't.

My personal plan is to right now open up Latests as they come in. Since we know SCL based scaling is coming I'm trying to get as many Dr. Strange covers as I can before he rolls. As I'm doing that I'm covering/championing the 12 4* and setting bonus covers for 4* that don't have any maxed covers so I never have a wasted bonus. Once Strange rolls to latest, I will start hording CP and LTs again waiting on the outcome of the devs change and getting enough stored up that my odds of pulling the right covers for my 5/5/x are higher so I don't waste a bunch of bonus covers getting those.

oh i like this idea of some older 4 stars rotating in and out. Maybe 6 each season.

To be fair, 4 covers of starlord were just offered in progression in pve.

One other option for you that isn't mentioned is hoard PvE tokens if the vault is unfavorable for you. Yes you will have to wait a couple months for them to rerun the same event (and hope it isn't a new release which doesn't have vaults), but you will end up with a lot of tokens for some of these events and you will end up with much better chances of pulling the covers you want out of the vault once you find one you like.

Same goes for tacos. You now get 3 per day which means that after 200 days you will have 300 tacos for each vault, guaranteeing all the 4* covers in the vault. You don't HAVE to wait that long, but a guarantee seems like a good way to beat RNG no?

Open them now. It has never been easier to max cover a 4 than it is right now. With forty-seven 4* it was incredibly hard to max cover any of them, the pool was just too diluted. Since there are only 12 in tokens now it is sooooo much easier to cover them. Peggy, Carol, Medusa, Bl4de, and Wasp (since the rework) are all great. Each of them are just as good as the older characters.

I'd say it depends on how you feel about the 12 in the pool currently. I'm currently opening tokens every chance I get because I'll never have a better chance than right now to finish building Peggy. Once I get there, then I can sit back and see whether I want to keep opening or keep my powder dry for Whatever Comes Next.

But right now? If I've got a token, imma open it. Daddy needs three more Peggy covers.

Not sure if anyone read the same post I did. He said "...here are SOME of the ideas that the team is investigating" . That, to me, suggests there are many other options, one of which may very well involve altering LTs or odds or....who knows? I am not hoarding right now because im trying to get strange cover #13 to complete him, but I will be once he rotates out, waiting to see what, if anything, comes as a solution. Whatever it is, I really hope it does something to alleviate 5* dilution, which BH didnt really touch. Either way, I think its a good idea to hoard unless youre chasing someone, and dont get tied down to these 3 ideas, because it could be something very different....and maybe much better.

But right now? If I've got a token, imma open it. Daddy needs three more Peggy covers.

That's what I did. My Peggy was already at 11 when vaulting started, so this was the perfect time to finish her off. Now that I got her champed though, and also max covered both Spider Woman and Wasp in the process I'm beginning to wonder whether now might be a good time to chill on pulling tokens and let a few newer 4s rotate in.

Or I could keep pulling to get as many champ Peggy levels as possible and maybe champ either Wasp or SW. (Need a break from the constant champing tbt).

Mine has gone from 1/1/2 to 5/3/2 since it began. I'm entirely okay with that. Hoping for 3 more covers in the next two weeks. Otherwise, I'll just save up 360 CP. I WILL have a 13-cover Peggy.
