More crickets...

Is it just me, or has the level of engagement in the forums dropped a bunch along with all the complaints about the new marketing? Does this translate into fewer players? Are we in a segment of time where they drive out the 'senior' players while grooming a new set?

I think it's fatigue from all the outrage of the last week and a half. It's very hard to sustain that level of activity for that long. Everyone is still unhappy, they just don't see a reason to care as much when it's met with relative silence.

    Yeah, this is pretty accurate.

True enough. This is one of the reasons I like the top 10 coalitions changing their names, tho, it's an ongoing protest sustained without the need for active participation. Anyone can look at the top of the leaderboard and notice something's up.

I'll still be grousing on the forums. It's something to do, innit?

Yeah it's something to do. Seeing that I've lost a lot of interest in the game due to the recent update, I've spent a lot more time here.
Guess I'm still waiting for an acceptable response from the devs.
The crickets are to be expected. What can we say that hasn't already been said?

Part of it for me is that they put out an event with pretty decent rewards. They increased the distribution of the attainable mythic by double in platinum, the individual rewards went up from IF, coalition rewards went up quite a bit from RATC...

Also, Chutulu responded to my email and it seems they are at least cognizant and discussing our outrage.

Lagartha meeting with WotC was a nice bump in confidence as well.

IF they revert RATC to 30 crystals for top 2 teams, I think the complaint train will pick up steam again.

This is why the outrage was met with silence. Doesn't take long very everyone to get fatigued. Honestly, we all should probably have been working in shifts to post on the forum icon_razz.gif

Well, our coalition names are still changed for the most part. Also, most of us are still refusing to spend real money on the game.. Hopefully this continues til we see some real change.

Phrases like "for the most part" and "most of us" are part of the problem.
They will just wait till those turn into phrases like "some of us" and eventually "a few of us".

Unfortunately, I can only suggest that we go on a spending strike. Many MTG players have a spending problem that is just as bad as the proverbial American housewife. They just can't resist for long. Tez 2 will likely be the big test this week?

I was a sufferer. I joined during the presidential election, and spent over $2500. But I broke my habit, and so can you with a little help from D3! Just think about how little they care about your enjoyment of the game! Think about the hard work that you put into building decks that operate within their system, only to have that upturned by broken pay-to-win cards or extraneous currencies!

Now look around you; there are other things to do:

-Clean your house! When you look at how clean it is after you're done, you'll have a real sense of lasting pride, instead of insomnia/fatigue from doing battles between 2 and 5 am.

-Go for a walk! Nature is great and free and it will make you healthier instead of causing eye problems from looking at your phone screen for 12 hours a day because QB is formatted in such a stupid way.

-If you live in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Alaska, California, Maine, Massachusetts, Nevada, or Washington DC, go get some weed! It's the cheapest drug around, and it's legal in your state as long as you're of proper age! If you're not within driving distance of one of those states, sorry the Midwest and South suck so much. Spin around for 10 minutes straight; basically the same effect.

As you can see, there are tons of other more rewarding things to spend your time and money on. Not another dime!
