Throw tacos at 4Blade?

I've got 2 green 4Blades dying on the vine. With the red blade in the pve reward, he'll be at 5/5/2. That last black that I need is in my DPD Vault this week, but I can't decide if I want to blow my taco hoard on it. Here's my thinking:

He's a latest 12, so I'll probably draw more dups if I don't, in addition to selling off the two I already have. Then again, with vaulting, does it matter? I might prefer the 1000 ISO to the early lame champ rwds, which seems as far as any character will get before they get vaulted. There's also decent odds I'll draw the black while he's in latest 12, although probably not before at least 1 cover expires. I only have 230 tokens, so it's not even guaranteed I get it from the vault. The other 4* in the vault is an Iceman, so just a champ lvl there. Also, might be better to use tacos to finish off older, vaulted characters.

Now that I typed it out, it feels like a no, but what does everyone else think? For reference, I'm firmly in 4* land with 21 champed 4*s, including most of the top tier.

I blew my 300 tacos (287 of them to be exact) to finish Peggy couple of month ago and I didn't regret. But C4ge is not really Peggy (still good but not that good). The main issue I see is that you don't have 300 to be sure he is picked. On the other side - you will be floating in HP after pulling the hoard (both health packs and hero points), and you will get loads of 3* championing rewards (maybe some extra 4* out of it) and you will probably be able to flip the 2* farm.

Cage will be in packs long so the sooner you start getting the champion levels for him the higher a chance he will go over lvl 300.

The character in question was Bl4de, but same difference.

I guess the crux of the issue is a larger one. In the new vaulting climate, is it as important to champ and avoid wasting covers? Or is it significantly less of an issue now?

I meant Blade as Cage will rotate in two seasons but you are right - it made little difference.

To answer second part of the question - do you open the tokens with CP (and latest legendary) or do you hoard them? Because if you hoard you will not be getting many covers anyway so the wasted covers are less of an issue. If you open the tokens you should probably champion them as they come or be prepared to sell the ones you don't like. Have in mind the rotation list - next in line are Peggy, Wasp, Spider-Woman and Cage. It seems like Peggy will be out after the current season and Wasp with SW after the next one. So it gives over 2 months for Cage and over 3 for all the others.

Nope, not a hoarder of cp/LTs. I'm usually more cover poor than iso poor, so I open as they come.

I did end up deciding to go for the Bl4de in the vault. I've been having fun with him in the pve this week, so I figured I may as well. It took 198 of my 240 pulls, so not great luck, but not terrible. No buyers remorse so far.
