I went to play today on steam and when I clicked the icon it went to the launch installation screen. Did a full restart but alas the same thing. Ran the install which only lasted a few seconds then it was ready, now I have 2 different MPQ icons, one says MPQ dark reign one just mpq is one of them a fake phishing icon?

Hey there homeinvasion, have you checked Programs and Features in the Control Panel to see if there is by chance a duplicate installation of MPQ? The icon could be a duplicate shortcut, but if the second icon remains after uninstalling the game then I would suggest reaching out to Customer Support so that you can get your ticket escalated to one of the engineers to troubleshoot your issue.
