I didn't expect it would be easy to obtain a masterpiece, that being said. I did however expect that $700 would have at least yielded 1 or 2 (even the garbage One's).
$600 is 18k manacrystal.png at 300 manacrystal.png per K-pack of 5x5 60 K-packs + whatever the sales were to get the iso8.png. So in total 65 K-pks or 1,125 cards & 2 MP-pks that's a lot of chances to get one card right? Wrong! NOT 1
BTW, FYI should definitely not have mythic's in with them when, they are already diluted with garbage. Who wants 3 valuable slots taken up for that trash? Or at least have the decency to add in new Mythic's, the audacity.
Then (assuming free play) expect people to grind manacrystal.png to then get iso8.png for months only to get a damn Mythic they already have. You people have some nerve. I'm glad in my case my time proved to be much more valuable then my money, only to have that happen with these odds lol.

Shame on you for setting up this pathetic system knowing damn well people won't be patient enough to grind the manacrystal.png even if the iso8.png payed out tenfold (witch it should especially if your intent is to keep old mythic's in the mix!)
You Failed miserably in this attempt but, shoot the short-term you made out like bandits & made a few dollars right!? That's what matters.
Keep adding in trash like this & you're going to keep losing people, especially when they can't even download the content because there device is full of this GARBAGE!

I hear ya bro. Chasing specific cards has always been an issue. It's by design to extract as much money from you as possible, just like a casino.

I made a suggestion that the Elite packs should roll 3 times and let you choose 1 card, however without the community support it will never happen.

I suggested that they just shouldn't include cards you already had. With the time or money it takes to get these things they really shouldn't allow to have dupes.

or just remove the cards you have from the list for you is another easy way.

We don't know the drop rate of MP cards, but a reasonable assumption could be around 0.1% per card (1 in 1000 cards).

At that rate, the expected number of MPs from a $600 spend would indeed be 1.5 as you expect. But even then, 22% of people who open $600 worth of KLD packs would get no MP cards.

As for the 1-card Mythic/MP packs, has anyone at all opened a MP from those packs? The theory that mythics are more likely to drop from those packs than MPs may have some support.

Please delete your payment method and repeat after me: Not.Another.Dime!

Even if you did get 2-3 masterpieces was it worth $700?

I fought an AI Koth deck in NoP that was proudly sporting a Lightning Greaves.

First wild Masterpiece I ran into. That's got to be a sad one to have pulled, considering it competes less favorably with a uncommon Origins card Strider Harness. It was only two shields, too. I would have expected more given how rare and relatively underwhelming it is, requiring in-play three of these very rare cards for added benefit.

    ---

What's the mastery on these things, anyway? Is it doubled again off mythic due to being a new 'tier'? As in 32 points (or 16-all colors for colorless)? Or is it just like the existing mythic tier in terms of mastery?

Yeah, exactly. The swords are great, a few of the other cards are very strong.. but about 1/2 the masterpeices are merely good. Then a few of them are pretty bad. If you collect the whole set of Greeves, Helm, Gauntlet you get +4/+4 haste, doublestrike, hexproof, unblockable. Not far superior to just a single sword that give +8+8 and some other decent buffs. That's a lot of components to play out to get a buffed up creature. Actually makes me wonder if Tezz is going to steal SR's old skill of playing out the next X supports.

Still, I would rather play out 3 different swords than those 3 cards

They master just like mythics and give the same mastery points. They even play the same ding when they enter the board.
