Incorrect version of character being default selected

Having just max championed my first 3 3* characters I've encountered a bug that is going to sound minor but is incredibly annoying.

When I go to start a match in Tennage Riot PvP each and every time it defaults to selecting the single cover dupe I have just rostered to start cycling when ready rather than my maxed championed 3* version.

There is one fair specific circumstance where this might be useful but 99.9% of the time I'm going to want to use the max championed version so why is the game defaulting to the single cover version - it's insanely annoying to start a fight and realise I didn't remember to go change it back to the 'right' KK
