Rostering 5*s

I wanted to ask if you all think my scaling will be significantly affected if I started rostering 5*s now

I am a newish player with24 3*s champed and about 10 more to be champed in the next month. I have all but ten 4*s rostered, but none useable (the most covers I have is 8 on Red Hulk and the highest level 4* I have is Deadpool at level 135). My three highest 3*s are at level 184, 182, and 180.

So far, I have been selling off the 5* covers I've gotten (about a dozen) to avoid scaling in PvE. I am thinking about starting to roster them. My thinking is that I usually have at least two boosted 3*s now and before long, I'll have them all. Plus, 5*s shouldn't affect my scaling at all once the new scaling goes into effect, so I want to start rostering them before then.

I have three 5*s one the vine - Thanos expires Saturday, followed by Dr. Strange a few days later, and Hawkeye in two weeks.

I play every PvE and every PvP, though I concentrate more on the former (usually get top 25/full progression in PvE and top 50/800 progression in PvP.

I could just roster Thanos and see how it goes, but I don't want to have to blow off a PvE since I am in a PvE alliance.

So what effect, if any, do you think adding 1,2, or 3 one-cover, level 255 5*s will have on my scaling?

If you have enough champed 3*s that you're able to field a full team of boosted characters each PvE you shouldn't see too much of a difference in your scaling. When boosted 3* champs are above 255, which means having a 5* on your roster won't bork your scaling, as long as you're not dumping ISO into them. Though if it does you can always sell them after the fact to reset your scaling.
