  • Its hard to say if it was worth it without knowing what you already had, if you needed a lot of those Thor and Hawkeye Modern cards then I would say you did alright, you got a few nice 3* cards although you were a bit unlucky to not get a least 1 Ragnarok in or classic Spiderman in there.
  • 7 *** 1 **** all **

    ~13% for ***
    ~2% for ****

    That's good to know
  • Makes more sense to save it for when you win a legendary cover by being first place or something.
  • Ouch. Any way you look at it, it's not worth it. You'd be better off using that HP for covers that you actually use/need to level than chancing it for tons of Hawkeyes icon_lol.gif

They change the setting it was every three ** one *** . The drop rate of *** is lower. Some time I get 3 *** in the past before r41 patch
  • I learned from months of playing Puzzles and Dragons. It's never, ever worth it.

So yea, it's great you have a handful of new heros. But now you have to grind a ton of ISO to get them up to a decent level.

You were much better off just grinding ISO and slowly accumulating these covers through rewards/bonuses, etc. Using that HP to buy health packs when needed and specific, targeted covers to bring a 2 star hero up to levels 4 and 5.

This game is meant to be played like a marathon, not a sprint.
  • I personally think the RNG wasn't the worst I have experienced, but it didn't make me feel like spending more money either. The thing is each week theres 1-3 events where most people earn 600-1200 coins per week (myself included). So the RNG has to make covers obtainable for those who like to play for free, yet still be inviting for those who want to support the game by buying coins. Good night everyone. If you want to console me, u can yield to Vex in the Thor tournament lol... If u want to really crush me, attack me until I am back to rank 200 lol.
  • Some Stats:
    Bullseye Dark Avengers - 6 (11%)
    Hawkeye Modern - 18 (33%)
    Magneto Marvel NOW! - 6 (11%)
    Spider-Man Bag-Man - 6 (11%)
    Thor Marvel NOW! - 12 (22%)

    Loki - 2 (4%)
    Magneto Classic - 2 (4%)
    The Hood - 2 (4%)

    Wolverine X-Force - 1 (2%)

    Two Stars - 48 (87%)
    Three Stars - 6 (11%)
    Four Stars - 1 (2%)

    Black - 3 (5%)
    Blue - 14 (25%)
    Green - 4 (7%)
    Purple - 14 (25%)
    Red - 12 (22%)
    Yellow - 6 (11%)

Covers that didn't show up at all:
    Wolverine - Astonishing X-Men
    Daken - Dark Avengers
    Storm - Classic

    Spider-Man - Classic
    Ragnorok - Dark Avengers

    Black Widow - Grey Suit
    Dr. Doom - Classic

Now I noticed while looking at the animation of the cover packs in the "Recruit Heros" screen that the 2 star heros I listed here don't actually look like they're in that 150HP pack, only in the 500ISO pack (Also Doom and Widow). I never actually realized that until now, so maybe there is some value in buying that 500 ISO pack is it's the only way to get certain covers outside of tournament winnings. I'm not positive if those animations are 100% representative of what you can win in each of those packs, but this data supports it.

Then of course there are a few of the newer covers that seem to only be available through tournaments and events right now:
    Captain America
    Iron Man MK40
    Moonstone

P&D also rips off their users by increasing the difficulty of the game once you purchase something. It would be harder to do that in this game.
  • If you're a Hawkeye fan it's probably worth it ^^

I think you're thinking of Candy Crush. PAD's enemies all have set HP's and attack ability that does not vary.

I will go ahead and say no way that pull was worth it. With those 8500 coins I would've maxed out a skill say on Ragnarok or Classic Spidey. Maxing Spidey's Blue or Ragnarok's Red would only have cost 5000 HP which would be far better then all of those covers I think.

Assuming you had the ability unlocked already, of course.

    Yes, very true.
  • I already know I don't like the idea of the RNG. Gambling for "not money" has always seemed weird to me, in general. I just noticed the other day how many different slot machine apps are in the "top grossing" Android apps. That is one of the craziest things in the world to me. But in these types of games... to each their own, in that respect. icon_e_smile.gif It's just not how I would probably spend money in MPQ. As others mentioned, I appreciate the data and information, though. Awesome of you to let us know.

If that is true about Puzzles and Dragons (or any game), that is terrible. icon_e_sad.gif I guess I'm getting old, though. I hadn't even heard of P&D until an hour ago, and that was because of some news I read, saying there is a 3DS version coming soon. I was thinking of downloading it, to see how they price things. Maybe I can do some of my own detective work, it may give me a better idea of how fair the pricing is in MPQ. I didn't know there was anything to compare it to until now.

Off-Topic Edit: Zathrus, don't know if this was asked/mentioned elsewhere, but Zathrus, from Babylon 5, right? One of my all time favorite shows. icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah, the numbers for the enemy's attacks and HP in P&D are set, you can wiki them and everything.

Talking about P&D's monetization, it's not exactly the same since you use slots for leveling as well as skill ups, but $1 gets 5 slots there. It can also refill your stamina, which raises depending on how much you play, but is usually the equivalent of like maybe 6-7 fights. MPQ's health pack system is probably a bit more generous in that respect. Not to mention you can actually buy skill ups here, whereas P&D you have to grind to get extras of the monsters for a 10% chance at a skill up
  • From what IceX has disclosed to us thus far, there are at least two loot rolls that occur every time you buy a Heroic pack: One to determine the rarity, another to determine which card within said rarity tier.

I'm not sure if certain covers within the rarities are skewed to show up more often. When I bought 8500HP, I had a very similar experience to yours, but I pulled way (WAY) more **Bag-Man in addition to **Hawkeye.

Most CCGs publish this information as a courtesy to their customers so that people know what to reasonably expect for their dollar, and also so that the truly rare objects are appreciated- in fact, it's one of the first questions I ever posed here; but unlike gambling for money, they're not legally required to disclose the odds. Given our collective customer experience thus far, I doubt that we will ever be blessed with that degree of transparency.

So while posting your individual results can be a fun academic exercise, just remember that:
    • The RNG might favor or hate your particular experience.
    • There may be additional hidden variables, like whether or not accounts receive favorable (tiered) bonus(es) to the RNG for investing (preset thresholds of) dollars.
    • The RNG engine is subject to change without notice, and thus completely unreliable with regards to statistics.

I got a heroic token from the juggernaut event and another 50 HP as a reward putting me at 150 HP. So I got one heroic pack and one event heroic pack and it's bagman and m Hawkeye.

I'm done spending money on this game.

Edit: daily supply heroic token = another Hawkeye ...
  • SHould we keep a bag-man in our collection when recruiting a heroes ? Is the cover you already have a component off the randomization program ?

    Regards,
