Make it so you can convert duplicates into mana jewels iso8.png
this fixes the economy of the game that was recently destroyed
a suggested conversion rate of:
20 commons = 1 iso8.png
10 uncommons = 1 iso8.png
1 rare = 5 iso8.png
1 mythic = 20 iso8.png
1 masterpiece = 100 iso8.png

Create new elite packs:
rares only = 20 iso8.png
mythics only = 100 iso8.png
change the current masterpiece epic packs to ONLY CONTAIN MASTERPIECES and reduce the cost to something like 250+/-50

this way you can convert your cards and trade down a rarity to, so a dupe mythic will get you enough to get a guaranteed rare (which may be a dupe). Same from masterpiece to mythic.
This keeps the economy alive and is good for the developers. Players will be less upset when they get a dupe since they can trade it in for a card and will keep buying packs knowing whatever they get will have some value.

Also if you press the convert button and dont have enough commons or uncommons, the remaining will get converted to runes

Offering them from commons and uncommons makes it too easy to pay to open as many packs as you want, however, I doubt anyone would complain if duplicate mythics were jewels by default when you convert them.

I love the idea, and I love getting new cards, but I think those rates may be too generous.

KLD had 24 mythics, AER had 16, and each was the current set for 3 months. I think if the average player can get 1 non-duplicate mythic every 3-4 weeks (so 3-4 per set) without paying that is reasonably generous. (this is all discounting masterpieces)

I believe we are at less than half of that currently with jewels (not counting pay to play events), and we have no guarantee that elite packs won't give duplicates (which is the worst thing ever).

Or even make the conversion worse than proposed. Honestly, why do I have 500,000 runes that I cant use for anything.

I guess it shows you are after new players rather than creating a fun end game experience. Clearly the patch shows you don't give a rip about your long term players. But how does this possibly make financial sense? You realize its a lot more profitable to keep an existing user than it is to find a new user, right?

Oh, and if I wasn't clear..

    Not. Another. Dime.

    I'll explain.

You have an abundance of runes because one fine day a long time ago, devs gave us the ability to gain runes at 6x the existing pace. In doing so, they upset a fundamental part of the game, which was the process of leveling a plane walker. This was one of their first moves(mistakes?) to respond to user demands.

Assuming you have 10 walkers that cost about 160k average to level up, you've earned a total of 2.1 million runes. If the devs didn't gift us that multiplier, you would be working on the long process of leveling up your third or fourth walker right now.

The runes used to be something precious. It was hard to get. It was the unobtainuim. I think many people forgot/don't know that when they complain about their stack of runes or talk about the good old days when you could buy basic packs with runes.

You have that stack of runes because we got lucky. That's why.
