Losing overall points in season

Whenever I get attacked in Pvp and I lose, I lose points in pvp and also overall?

Is this part of the new update?

    It's been like that a long time. Your season points are the total of your points gained in PVP events tagged for that season. That means you'll lose points if your active PVP events lose points. They can't go below 0, though, so you can't lose points for the season that you gained in PVP events that are now closed.
