PVE: Avengers vs Ultron (2017-03-09) to (2017-03-13)

Event Info:

Once you join the event, you're locked in with your alliance until the end: no alliance hopping.

Each round features an Ultron node and 5 essential nodes. Your alliance works together to deplete Ultron's health for each round. The round starts with the Ultron node unlocked and the essentials locked. Win or lose against Ultron locks his node for 8 hours and all damage done to him contributes towards the round's progress. When Ultron's node is locked, the essentials unlock. Each essential node can be completed once and will unlock the Ultron node once cleared. New essential nodes become available at 8 hour intervals starting from when the event begins (12pm / 8pm / 4am EDT). There are 8 rounds total.

Clearing each round unlocks a node to fight against Ultron Prime. The first 5 Ultron Prime nodes grant an event token and the last 3 feature a character cover.

Now, I've run these events before, so I know how it works. Every 8 hours the fights get a little harder, with bigger jumps at 24/48/72 hours. However, I went from fighting bots in the 30-50 range with an occasional level 60 to level 276. Come on. Couldn't we be a LITTLE more gradual? Maybe something like no more than +100 levels a jump? It'd be great if I could participate in a boss fight for more than 24 hours.

XPool and IMHB are a godsend. Gather Red and Purple. Launch Purple, let Ultron kill himself, use IMHB red to clean up.

Doesn't matter who the third is at this point.

This event has given me a new appreciation for Gwenpool. Even badly under-covered, her, IM40 and 3* Steve are carrying the day against Ultron. Of course Ultron helps a lot by frequently stacking multiple bombs in a column....

That sounds like a great team for board control here. I've been using Goblin's yellow passive to fortify IM40's yellow and Thano5 green countdowns because they don't get destroyed at the bottom of the board. IM40's red at five covers is good to have when he comes out of his stun.

I throw in Quake as the third, mostly to use her blue to pop all of XPool's count down tiles.

IM40 and Hulk generate Green, Moon Knight takes care of the rest

This is the second time I have played every single possible battle in this event and ended up 10k short for the final token.

If you're going to make it impossible except for the top ranking alliances, just say that. I am getting a little tired of blowing through 35 health packs, playing every day, only to come up short on the rewards.

Do you mean you played every fight and frequently failed to clear it? If that is the case, you just need to keep working on your roster. Hitting max progression has nothing to do with top alliances. You might need to try different strategies or team compositions.

My Alliance is by no means a top Alliance (usually top 200-ish) but we managed to blow through Ultron with Little difficulty. You do need to keep pace to reach the final rewards though - the Points increase dramatically in the later rounds, so if you take too long opening them up you may not be able to get all progression rewards. In short, you need to make sure the entire Alliance contributes and does their best.

My alliance is not a top alliance but I was still able to get the final token with 17 minutes left and 2 nodes still available.
