Maximizing Characters and best Team Comp

I think we are getting to the point in the game when we have enough diversity you can build a comp to best utilize one featured character. Thought I start a thread and get some ideas. Now I understand that there a multiple builds for some characters so you need to address which build of the primary character you are trying to maximize. The only goal is to make it so the character is on max effectiveness off and def, and try to go rainbow I'll start with one guy most people probably have.

Wolverine (Patch) --Any build

My comp for Patch works for anybuild you have but allows the AI to get the most out of him too. The first pairing is

IM40--5/4/4
I'm using IM40 for a few reasons, one as a tank, 2 for his combo with Patch's TBTI, the risk is that you get 13 AP while IM40 is active since it will use unibeam, any more red AP than that and he'll use TBTI.

3rd--OBW 5/3/5

Because she can't match blue unless IM40 is down it doesn't make sense to have this maxed since she is going to be slow getting it.

The reason this works as the best Patch ramp as both characters support and help a fully leveled Patch max all his skills. OBW will get her bonus on purple and black thus maximizing her damage, and her and IM40 will quickly get AP for Patch's Beserker Rage or TBTI and relatively quickly. The negatives of this are no black active skills, and there is a small window that the AI will cast Unibeam over the TBTI if you have 13 AP and IM40 is not on stun. Strenghts are IM40, who while has expensive costs overlaps colors with both teammates allowing him to pick up blue if OBW dies and red if Patch dies. I feel at this time this is the best team comp to Maximize and feature Patch

    Patch is an interesting character to try and pin down an optimal build/team comp.

    Personally, my favourite is Patch (3/5/5) + Hulk + IM40.
    For offense, the game plan is simple: gather red and yellow, hit recharge, use TBTI while IM is stunned (Wolverine icons on 5/6 colours) - pop either patch or hulk green to wipe up.
    For defense, you're packing a whole lot of hit points, plus the Patch wildcard, which will likely be enough for some people to pass over you. Hulk green being more expensive than Patch's means that even if the AI rushes green, it's less likely to pop Berserker Rage early. There's a bit of competition for Red AP, but again, since TBTI is the most expensive, the AI should hold out until it gets 14 red, so that's good.
    There are some downsides - IM40's blue skill means the AI might match blue when it should be chasing red/yellow, essentially delaying itself and giving your opponent another turn. This comp also has purple as a dead colour (the two edged sword of giving Patch icon coverage).

    Patch + Mags could also form a team where purple carries Patch's icon, but isn't actually a dead colour. Someone with Black and Yellow actives would make a perfect rainbow composition - Hood or Black Panther. Unfortunately, I think both options are sub-optimal. Since both are strongest in Yellow, they will take it from Patch. Further, either composition requires Patch to be in the centre slot or he loses even more tiles - he and Magneto share red strength at equal level, and he will share purple strength with either BP or Hood. In worst case scenario, Patch would be covering only green tiles. By this stage, I'm inclined to pull Patch from this lineup and use Punisher instead, who'll bring Strike tiles without a drawback, and offers alternatives for both black and red AP if BP or Mag is taken out first.

    The problem with Hulk is that he tanks green and red, and you already have IM40 on yellow, so you have automatically nerfed TBTI because the only color Wolvie gets is purple, assuming IM40 is down, then you get yellow too, but only those two becuase Hulk is taking the others. The goal is to maximize Patch, not the best overall team, the best team that makes Patch the best and Hulk doesn't help

    Ah, I hadn't yet accounted for max level Hulk sharing green and red strength - and max IM40 will take Red from both Hulk and Patch.

    So with Hulk in centre, Patch will only tank purple until Recharge kicks in, and then he gets purple, blue, yellow.
    With Patch in centre, Patch tanks purple and green until Recharge kicks in, and then he gets 5/6 colours.

    I have a feeling that this will all be moot within the next ~10 days. Patch + 3* Daken on defence will be an exercise in the frustration of passive regen.

    Hulk still gets blue, he will only get purple and yellow with IM40 on recharge.

    Being in position 1 or center or lets you tank if you are tied for tile value with another character, otherwise tile strength still goes to the character that has the higest value. In order to get more than 2 colors Hulk has to be dead.
