Oh, AI, you so silly.

So I'm facing Ares. My team is low on health and he's able to use all his powers which will kill me.

What does he do first? Sunder............and he's gone.

I kind of feel like the AI should have a better sense of self-preservation. Although maybe that's not the "heroic" lifestyle that a superhero or villain should follow.

I can't count the number of times the AI will take an opportunity to make a critical tile and match 4 instead. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind not taking the extra damage, but the perfectionist in me hates it.

The critical tile issue is nice. I imagine the game would be more difficult if the AI matched L-shapes. It could be argued that making the match 4 generates 4 extra AP because it destroys the entire row while the critical tile will only get you 3 more AP with the next match.

But killing yourself in a game decisive situation is beyond stupid in my opinion.

I enjoyed the recent simulation where Bagman kept increasing the timer on his own minions countdowns.

Don't forget the AI goes for the Thorned Rose whenever it's down to it's last 100 HP and I'm constantly seeing Juggs headbutt himself into the grave.
  • Daken uses Thorned Rose enviro when he is the last one alive. Better when he kills himself for AP which he can't use.

I've had all those happen and they are, indeed, hysterical and very helpful. But I've also noticed that the AI in PvP will sometimes let up, too. Like, it will match four city tiles when it has enough AP to use a skill and down my character. And characters that can change tile colors, Like Mags Marvel Now and GSBW, will select seemingly random tiles to change that do not create a match, then match a different color entirely (for instance, GSBW would use Deceptive Tactics to change some tiles green, then make a red match three). Again, I don't mind and I'm not arguing for smarter and more difficult AI, but I use those characters in PvP events, and I know I'm losing because GSBW isn't using her purple skill to earn enough green AP to instantly end the match with Sniper Rifle.

As an aside, I really wish they would make the purple tiles actually purple. They are quite obviously pink. Maybe next update...

My favorite is when Daken uses Thorned Rose then doesn't have enough Yellow to heal and downs himself.

This made me laugh. Although I've only seen AI kill itself once in that environment and I must admit that I believe I killed myself once. I desperately needed blue to heal my OBW but she didn't have enough HP to survive it. LOL icon_lol.gif

Agreed, totally pink in my eyes too. Maybe it makes it easier for colour blind people to make them pink.

Yes, it does. If it were actually purple, I might have some difficulty, although the different shapes help too.

I love this feature. Someone posted a congratulatory thread about and they were right. It would be one thing if I were stupid and left them such a perfect match (which I have done), but it would drive me nuts if the ai always got them when they fell from above the board. I get irritated enough when seemingly ideal matches 'fall from the sky' for it.

I've seen all of the ones mentioned above, and the Daken-fails are especially hilarious.

One thing I've noticed about crit behavior: the AI will make a match-5, leaving a crit. Half the time, it'll go match three tiles in a completely different part of the board instead of going for the easy 500 dmg on crit match.

Also, I am so glad that the AI completely ignores match-5 situations. If it actually matched every T and L that cascaded in... icon_eek.gif

I do love Ares' suicide attacks. Too bad they still haven't fixed the lingering tile bug
  • I often feel sorry for the player whose team I'm up against, due to how badly the AI plays.
e.g the AI never makes crits when it has the chance, placing coutdown tiles then immediately matching them, spiderman healing a couple of hundred damage instead of using Thor's or another characters damaging yellow skill, BWGS purple skill is always used in so hilariously bad that the AI often can't make a single green match with it, etc etc

However if I was actually playing against a human, or at least an AI that behaved more like I did, then I would find myself needing to invest in a lot more health packs.

Venom/Rags/Daken have downed my HT and Mod Storm but my BP is still fighting and has 2k HP left. I have enough Black to unleash Rage of the Panther but it won't kill the enemy team - it will leave them with 100-200 HP each. I hesitate before using it because I know it will give the AI 5 AP of their strongest color... That's enough for Rags or Venom to fire off an ability... Oh well... Gotta risk it.

BP gives them 5 Blue AP.

Go home Black Panther. You're drunk.

The strongest color in that case would be green. I don't see how it'd be blue. Note that green is the strongest color for Daken and Venom, despite neither having an ability to uses green AP.

That's what I thought! I assumed Godlike Power was going to end me! Are Panthers colorblind?

Now that I've actually had to use Bag-man, I realize his Snarky Remark ability can be used on friends and for alike. So it's not really a bug: once his team has enough yellow, the AI triggers the skill use, finds the two lowest-numbered countdown tiles and activates. Since usable characters rarely employ countdown-based skills, BM (ha!) will use them on his own party. That's my guess, anyway.

If they ever change this the game will be unplayable

I've seen this repeatedly with AI Yelena's Black skill, which turns my buff tiles into criticals. There will be two or even three crits on the board, and yet the AI will jump on a 4-match and end their turn. Thanks, Yelena!

I very often bank on the AI doing this. You could argue, which I sometimes do, that getting a simple 3-match for a colour you need is better than a crit match for a colour you don't need. Obviously AI doesn't use that sort of logic, or any other logic it would seem icon_razz.gif
