The re-cycle question.

Hi,
anyone here who's not re-cycled their 2* characters?
Did you do alright anyway?

I have, so far, kept telling myself,
"let's start a 2* farm..." but I only keep selling my 2*s telling myself:
"let's start a 2* far... eventually."

I have now only two of them left;
Storm and Magneto. I have these for DDQ matters. Now I'm thinking:
"maybe I could do it without Magneto, maybe I can cash in 650000 extra ISO-8 right now."
I still have one roster slot that's designated for any 2* that's essential for PVE (now I have Captain America, will swap him once this event is over), however I don't invest any ISO-8 in this temporary visit in my roster.

Did anyone play the game like this? And are you still alive? Having fun? Missing out a lot? Should I sell Magneto and champ Deadpool? This also gives me a roster slot for Riri who's expiring soon. Maybe I could start a re-cycling after I champ Deadpool since the next 3* is at such low cover-coverage I might as well put ISO-8 into Captain America instead of swapping him once Enemy of the State is over?

I used to not have a 2* farm and it's more or less fine.

Here's the breakdown in raw numbers:
Recycling a 2* will, when all is said and done, cost you 5k ISO.
You get: 5 hero tokens, 3 3* covers, 350 HP, 5 CP, and 200 XP.
The other issue is taking up the slot in your roster. And that's where the real rub is. These days 5k ISO is nothing, you can get those in 3 missions if you're lucky. The roster slot on the other hand. It takes 3 recycles to get the HP to pay for a new slot, so once you get the farm up and running you'll never want for HP again (I shield enough to get to 900 in PVP and occasionally buy tokens and my HP generation still outpaces new character releases). But in the meantime it might mean having to sell 4* or even 5* covers.

In the end 2* farming is like investing: You can get by just fine without it, but it pays to do it and the sooner you do it the more it pays off. Though chapping 3*s should take priority, since their rewards are far better and slower to generate.

I sold most 2* already, only exception Daken and started farming them.

Bullseye is still waiting in the queue to get added again, all others got replaced once.

Daken does not even care to get near LVL 144, still on LVL133. I really hope to get some covers so I can sell him. Peferable in the next few days!

Before I sold Storm and Magneto, I tested first if I can do DDQ without them. Storm was sold first, Magneto later.

Since the moment I had Thor/Storm/Black Widow at 90-100 they do DDQ again. Till Magneto is back...

Just got Gwenpool and still have 900HP for the next slot. I'm sure soon will come a time I need to sell few 4* out of the waiting queue. Hulkbuster in 7 days, what I hopefully can prevent. He is luckily the only one in the queue in the moment.

I'm sure farming 2* is worth it. Looks like Thor really wants to get sold soon again, I get his cover most often in the moment... icon_e_smile.gif

Farming 2* is the thing for any 3 to 4* transitioner (and above). You are not doing it for ISO - that is the main mind set you need to appreciate it. ISO is slightly negative but it's negligible (2 levels of a 4* toward the end of championing). You are doing it for XP, Hero points, CP, tokens, 3* covers that give more rewards.

Important thing to have is all 3* that are fueled by 2* championed to get these rewards as well. But that's farming 101 icon_e_wink.gif

I see literally no downside to it. Farming gives so much HP that I don't have to worry about slots anymore and I open promotional packs (and occasionally 10-packs).

My approach (to mitigate the iso cost) is this. When I have a 2* championed I wait till another cover arrives. When it happens I sell the champion and roster the one cover guy (unless they are required in PvE - then I might wait). I apply covers as they come and I level immediately them as I get covers. That way the iso is spent and I don't have a gaping whole waiting at the end of the process when they reach 13 covers. So far I didn't have to sell a single 2* cover. Even if the covers fall 5-5-0 and I start to get the first two colors the third one arrives before the end of 2 week period.

    So here I stand now,
with only 1 maxed out ** left.

However Captain America is at 13 covers and I have an extra 3 to put into him once he's champed.

I have the ISO-8 required to max + champ him also. But do I do it?
I could use the same ISO-8 to make Spider Woman level 188 (which would make her my highest level character yet actually) which is tempting.
Just convince me to do what's best for me. Putting my ISO-8 into a ** feels like such a step backwards (but I guess it isn't, it the beginning of a mini-farm, yey, mini-farm)
    What level is Spider-woman now?
At any rate, a two-star farm ensures a steady stream of Resources, so while it may sting a bit to set it up it is very Worth it in the long run. Each cycle nets you 375 HP, so after the third cycle (which isn't hard to do), all the HP is pure profit. It is quite astounding how fast the HP roll in, just a Little bit at a time.

I don't Think Spider-Woman is a particularly good choice as your first high level fourstar as she is a defense specialist - her main value is in using her black to avoid damage and her Purple to remove special tiles. Those are very nice Powers, but you probably need someone who can do some damage as your top fourstar.

What level do have your other highest 3*. I think it makes no difference if you have for example six of them on level 180 and bring Spider-Woman to the same level or few more.

While doing normal PVE (beside PVE's like Ultron) you will loose 2-3 days if you get up your 2* into a champ. I don't think it is a reason not to do it. The other advantages were said already.
