MPQ Save Missing

My save went missing after the MPQ app on my laptop froze. When I restarted MPQ after it froze, the initial story popped up after the start screen. I closed and restarted, same result. Is there anyone here on the forums that can give me a possible workaround while waiting for customer support? At this rate I feel like the Venom Heroic will be done before they respond to my email.

Here's what I've done so far. I checked on the AppData on my laptop and it looks like MPQ created a new save file. It may already have been synced to Steam Cloud. I played on my desktop PC yesterday so I backed up the save file located in the AppData. I started the game on the PC but Steam didn't ask me if I wanted to use the local or cloud save. It then proceeded to download the new game save file onto the PC. So I got nowhere with that.
