Tile destroying skills

I suppose I could try to do the math, but hopefully someone already has. When you use a tile destroying ability, does the damage correspond to that character's damage stats or the team's highest stat for each tile?

I'm fairly certain that all tile damage is that of the person who destroys the tiles (say Storm). This is the same when you do a row clear from a 4-5 line match.

Edit: Removed misinformation, thanks for clarification.
  • Damage from tiles on tile destruction ability is performed at the strength of the guy who's doing it. Any further cascade is done at the strength of whoever normally would've matched that.

The easiest way to verify this is when a level 230 Hood does Twin Pistols, destroying 18 tiles but only did 600 damage even though he's paired up with a Muscle that has a 103 strength on every tile color in the game.
  • I'm pretty sure there's also damage decay for each successive match in the cascade. That is, it's something like:

First match: 100% tile damage + strike tiles
Second match: switch characters to highest tile damage, then take 90%, then add strike tiles on top
Third match: switch characters to highest tile damage, then take 80%, then add strike tiles on top
    Etc.

Numbers are made up; I don't know what the actual decay is, but if you ever get a long chain of 8 or so with no strike tiles on board, at the end you'll start seeing single-digit numbers.

Yeah, and the decay is actually significant if you don't have any strike tiles out. I think first chain is already 75% or 66% of original damage.
