A New Case For Retiring PVE to Story Mode

I'm not huge on card mastery. It's generally boring to me. However when I get a card I'm excited about I generally test the heck out of it.

Well I did -- before Kaladesh.

Looking through my library this morning, I realized that 56% of my pre-Kaladesh cards are mastered. Only 12% of my Kaladesh and AR cards are mastered.

The reason for this is lack of opportunity. One of the really fun things about mastery is getting to see what a card can really do -- with no levels with Kaladesh mechanics available-- the set falls flat.

I also think this is why I've been so resistant to these releases -- I just don't have any recourse to test the cards. I have maybe used 15% of all the cards I own from these sets.

The solution is moving Fateful Showdown to Story Mode.

How hard can this be, really??

In addition, they can put the Avacyn event there as well.

But maybe they plan to put up the events again in the future?

How hard it is to do so, I have actually no clue.

    Regards!

Agreed. Story mode where we can practice new mechanics is the biggest hole in the game. Come on devs!

I'd like some more story levels, but there's really no reason for me to master any more of my cards now, I'm substantially over the threshold for Platinum Tier.

Agreed. One reason I want story mode is so I can actually play (and test) against decks that are actually using energy. It's been shown that a lot of KLD/AER cards are a lot more engaging and enjoyable in a matchup between two energy wielders. Mastering them on their own, however, against vanilla opponents, is just too boring.
