Early mistakes made, level 4s at will?

Hello all,

Here is my roster: https://mpq.gamependium.com/rosters/Killians/

I landed a 5* Cap and lucked into 4 covers for him early on with mostly a 2* roster and more than half of the 3*s left to get. I didn't know much about scaling and maxed his levels to 315 at one point. It helped me finish PvE nodes more effectively, but PvP probably got harder though I didn't know why at the time. Since then I have leveled a few other 5*s to 285.

Now I get that I made things harder on myself and have decided to keep 5*s where they are until much later. I'm still able to complete 4+ clears on PvE though the occasional node can eat some health packs at the end.

I'm just starting to get to focus on building my 4* roster which none have more than 8 covers. Do I even need to worry about leveling them at all since I probably already maxed my scaling problem with the early mistakes in 5* land or are there considerations that could continue to increase scaling problems?

You should be noticing that your play is becoming easier since you now have a pretty good roster of 3* champs. Your scaling will still usually be based on your highest 5* levels, but your boosted 3* are pretty close and can more than hold their own. So, you've pretty much advanced beyond the initial issue.

Eating health packs is normal, and is the game's way of telling you to take a break icon_e_biggrin.gif

I would suggest not leveling your 4* for now; you don't know which ones you'll want to champ first, and ISO should be used for champing the rest of the 3*. If you need to level any of the 4* to get their clash, then don't level them beyond your 3* if you can at all help it. Once the 3* are all champed, then you can decide on your 4* strategy; mine is pretty brain-dead; once a 4* has 9+ covers, I level them to 185 and then I keep them there until I can champ them. Probably not ideal, but I find that at that point they're useful when boosted and can almost always beat their clash.

I also would suggest that you have enough of a roster that you can start the 2* farm; since it looks like all of your 2* champs are at 144, just don't sell them all at once. And, if the first day is any indication, don't worry about the new deadpool node; a mediocre 4* with a champed 3* and wherever the 2* is should beat that node; just try to make sure you always have all 2* rostered.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Abominatrix. Good advice. My 2* roster is always on rotation, but I didn't want to have to constantly update the 2* roster for them as that would be tedious on a continual basis. So the 2* farm is always somewhere in flux from level 15-144. Trying to plan well around when to sell based on boosted, featured, and DDQ info, but it seems to be working out.

I think new players do that all the time I did as well I had 2 covers of 5* black widow, so I put all my ISO in her lol next thing I know my PVE scaling is crazy so I asked questions found out that it's because of the 5* so I sold of black widow and didn't regret it because my scaling had gone back to normal this was back in my 1* 2* transition so I had no choice, months later I have 7 covers of 5* black widow but non of my 5* are leveled up and it will stay that way for a long time that's if I get more OML covers icon_lol.gif

Yeah, if I ever get my yellow OML cover I'll probably level him to 300 given the help in PvP since he's such a beast with that. Though that would put me at 1x 315, 1x 300, and 2x 285 characters. I could see a bump in scaling I suppose if I ever did that given it is currently 1-315 and 3-285s and three each at 270 and 255.
