For those on the verge of champing 4* Luke Cage and needing motivation, I champed him Tuesday and here’s his numbers for yellow and red at 5 covers while boosted (from lvl 271 to 376) in the event:

Fortifies up to 3 friendly special tiles, then does 4439 damage for each fortified tile on the board. Iron Fist partner creates a 712 protect tile.

Does 18997 damage, or 30395 if there are no enemy Strike, Protect, or Attack tiles on the board.

I’ve been doing 5/3/5 so far and he’s been fun, though he’d be more effective in a pvp with lots of Goon nodes, to constantly be triggering his black to generate protect tiles, which in turn he could then fortify. But there’s barely any goon nodes in DP vs MPQ, so there’s been lots of times when I’ve got yellow ready but can’t fire it. (Bring a special spamming partner).

But that red is a lot more impressive than I thought. Even if there are enemy special tiles out, 18997 damage at 13 red ap is actually more cost effective than a comparable level Hulkbuster at the same ap cost. Even my lvl 281 Hulkbuster (boosted to 379) came up short, with1386 per red ap for a total 18018 damage for 13ap.

And if you want to drain your phone’s battery, take Cage/Carnage/Dr Strange into that 4* essential node.

That's nice to hear! I've actually been playing around with my lvl 70 4/0/4 Cage with my undercovered 5* GG 1/3/3 and champed Star-Lord. Agreed that it works great on Goons. SL creates a CD, GG fortifies the CD, and Cage's yellow fortifies the black strike tiles I create with GG. Now I am looking forward to grabbing is Black cover and eventually champing him.

I hate these event I've always hated this event,

The Luke Cage node cost me 6 Heath packs six health packs star Lord is annoying kamala Khan is annoying but not as annoying as vision doing his stupid yellow and blue ability back and forth making kamala heal the whole team

It feels like there is very little synergy with the boosted 4* characters for this event - too much of it is great characters all wanting the same colours for their active abilities. I also find it sad that I feel I need to play IM40 over boosted IMHB for this event, it just does not feel right.

So far I am running with Bobby, Pun MAX and IM40, but this may change once I hit the C4ge progression cover and I can champ him.

I forget how much time it actually adds to do 4 clears of each node with no goons for Strange to feast on. Last night was a proper snoozefest.

I tried out Mr Fantastic with Cage during the download time on the Gauntlet, they did work good together. Nice black/yellow overlap of passives & actives and that blue helps to get more fortified tiles out there to up the damage on Cage’s yellow. Iron fist of course works well as they intended, but its really a defense bonus. Curious to see how a 4* IF works with him when the netflix show hits. Haven’t tried JG or X-23 yet.

I tried my lvl 255 Goblin too, but he only fortifies countdown tiles, so with the wrong partner, the window for that extra Cage yellow damage is fleeting. Once I get my 4* Cap Marvel up though, that trio could be very dangerous.

My issue with this node is SL's yellow is still bugged!! He still increases your AP by two so you have to wait until you save up enough AP to one-shot him. I used IF and IMHB to do the job but it is rather unfair.
