When do you start considering the move? I have 19 3* champed 6 max covered and most at 12 covers now. I know finishing this up is first thing to do. But when do I consider work towards the 4* move?
Wanted to get experienced players thoughts on best ways to prepare for this and best way to try and avoid the scaling issues that may come.
It sucked early during the move up to 3* land. But now that I have a good verity of 3* to use for teams it has gotten easier. Will I suffer early once I finish my 3* and start on 4??

Slight jumping.in scaling, but nothing that can't be handled by choosing good 4 champs.

It really depends on who you have champed and what 4*s you're capable of champing. If you have the top tier 3*s champed (Ironman, Cage, First, Switch) then as far as scaling is concerned you're ready to move up to 4*s. But it also depends on who your covered 4*s are. You don't want to start with low-tiers like Electra or Eddie Venom, and you don't want to start with support characters like Starlord, Invisible Woman, or Cho-Hulk. If you have someone like Hulkbuster, Rulk, Lady Thor, Kingpin, Cyclops, or Punisher I'd say go for it. Most of them pair well with 3*s, Cyck has the damage and AP gen to carry a match on his own, and Punisher gets stronger if his weaker teammates get downed.

The other thing to consider is the costs. Champing a 4* is something to the tune of 300k, which means even with the boost of Shield Intercepts and doing well in events you'll be at it for a while. The other thing to consider is how often you get 3*s these days. 1 guaranteed drop a day from the DDP, 2 per PVE, plus 1 or 2 from PVP progression and whatever rewards you can snag from ranking in events, plus what you can pull from tokens. Champing means a net loss in ISO, but starts generating HP and, eventually, 4* covers and Legend tokens (though that's a BIG eventually, I'm a semi-serious player and the first 3* I champed right after champing became a thing just now got past the 223 mark).

The last question to ask yourself is how much do you enjoy playing with the 3*s? Because scaling is a bell you can't un-ring. With the exception of the ones I listed above, once you go into 4* land you'll rarely, if ever, use most of your 3*s again.

I think it should be no problem to bring the 4* on the same level as your highes 3*'s first, beside levelling normally your 3*'s.

After you did it, save the iso-8 to make several 4* at once into champions. While doing it, still increase the levels of your 3* as usual. Or spend 20-50% on 3* and the rest hold back for 4* later. This is how I plan it to do.
