Detail - The deck build around these theory
1.AI will use 1st ability the most and sometime 2nd. Ajani first ability is to disable creature.
2.The deck for each Planeswalker must also contain only cards of the expansion it came in. It suppose to face the deck in the same condition.
3.Not many creature removal (and no artifact removal) from BFZ. So we put ton of support.
4.AI can't use awaken cost as it could be.
5.AI can't use combo, as well as Mirrorpool. So we avoid complicated play.

This is a level 1-40 Ajani deck that can bring success to new players.

In the early game, whomever has the most life points usually wins. Here you can use cards like Turn Against and Ondu Rising to gain an advantage in the race to outpace your opponent. Serene Steward is an amazing card for the cost! Two removal spells ensure your opponent stays behind in the game, while Fertile Thicket and Volcanic Upheaval ramp your mana quickly. The last two creatures provide insane swing potential. Resolute Blademaster gives Double Strike out to every creature, even a stolen creature! Akoum Stonewalker turns huge cascades around by giving you an attacker or 3 to even the odds.

Midrange Ajani deck for players who are getting close to finishing off Ajani's leveling and have access to a few new cards.

Ondu Rising has been replaced with Lantern Scout. Still get lifelink, but you can occasionally get extra activations out of it. Linvala has been added as a way to make a comeback if you get behind. 10 life and two 8/8s can save the game. 3 new gem changers have been added to make use of Ajani's amazing mana gains. Any match you make is advantageous to you, and with more forced matches, you'll be well ahead in the mana department.

    No holds barred Ajani!

This deck focuses on being a deck your opponent will despise to play! Mana denial is so frustrating and this deck will prevent your opponent from doing anything!

Quarantine Field will neuter your opponent into the ground! Four removal spells allow you to control every opponents threat and are unaffected by QF. Shrine and Thicket produce mana for your huge threats!

Linvala is still here because of how good she is. Ulamog joins the team as it literally drains any hope your opponent has to gain mana. Tyrant of Valakut is included as another way to nuke your opponent's last hope!

    Ajani Vengeant

    Level 1
    Chasm Guide
    Serene Steward
    Belligerent Whiptail
    Kor Entanglers
    Reckless Bushwhacker
    Akoum Stonewaker
    Retreat to Valakut
    Devour in Flames
    Sure Strike
    Inspired Charge

    Deck playstyle
At level 1 you have no abilities and a restrictive deck composition. Ajani starts off with 6/3/2 creatures/spells/supports. Fortunately Ajani has a solid source of creatures and spells from both Red and White.

The Allies in the deck benefit from Chasm Guide's Rally ability and trigger Kor Entangler's Rally disable. The spells are intended to boost damage with Devour in Flames working as last-resort removal also.

    Notable cards/combos
Reckless Bushwhacker: Reckless Bushwhacker is a creature that is generally solid regardless of the planeswalker level. At lower levels, it takes the role of a bigger creature and brings a surge in damage with its mass Haste and +1/+0 until the end of the turn. At higher levels, it is still useful for the mass Haste but plays the role of a small but still mana-efficient creature.
Akoum Stonewaker: Akoum Stonewaker is a great creature during the setup phases of your deck. The Elemental summon from landfalls makes good use of a spare creature slot while you are getting ready to summon your other creatures and a 3/1 for each landfall isn't insignificant either.
Devour in Flames: This spell works at low levels as a finisher on the final round or as a last-resort form of creature removal for when the removal of the creature is worth giving the opponent 5 mana.
Sure Strike: This spell is one of the best uses of 1 mana. Giving +3/+0 along with First Strike makes this the bane of Defenders/Reach/Vigilance creatures everywhere. Also good to put onto a Berserker, if you use those, to keep it from taking damage when attacking.

    Level 40
    Linvala the Preserver
    Lantern Scout
    Serene Steward
    Zada, Hedron Grinder
    Reckless Bushwhacker
    Shrine of the Forsaken Gods
    Smite the Monstrous
    Ondu Rising
    Sure Strike
    Lithomancer's Focus

    Deck playstyle
At level 40 you gain access to your planeswalker abilities and increased mana gains. Ajani has access to a good array of Allies from both Red and White which will help trigger Lantern Scout's ability regularly. Zada while an Ally also provides big boosts in damage through her ability with spells.

Smite the Monstrous is the sole creature removal but Sure Strike and Lithomancer's Focus both work to keep your creatures alive when going up against blockers. Linvala is key as a big blocker who also has Regenerate 4 to keep going.

    Notable cards/combos
Linvala the Preserver: An 8/8 Flying Defender with Regenerate 4 is a very solid creature. The 10 life on summon helps for comeback situations but the 2 4/4 Angel token summon helps even more. Linvala then works to block the opponent's creatures while the Angel token dishes out damage. Ajani's first skill also helps keep Linvala alive by disabling opponent creatures at opportune times to ensure that Linvala has time to regenerate.
Zada, Hedron Grinder + Targetable Spells: Zada gives a humongous +6/+6 boost to all your creatures until the end of your turn per targeted spell you cast upon it. With three creatures on the board (including Zada), this is +18/+18 per spell which can easily swing the tide of the game.
Lantern Scout / Ondu Rising + Serene Steward: Triggering Serene Steward's ability is a great way to build up your creatures. And with two cards granting Life Link to all your creatures for a turn, this can happen fairly often in this deck. Just take note to work around the mana drain aspect of Serene Steward's ability, though Shrine of the Forsaken Gods will mitigate that for you also.

    Level 60
    Linvala the Preserver
    Tyrant of Valakut
    Jori En, Ruin Diver
    Mina and Denn, Wildborn
    Akoum Hellkite
    Mirrorpool
    Shrine of the Forsaken Gods
    Canopy Vista
    Cinder Glade
    Smite the Monstrous

    Deck playstyle
At level 60, you gain access to your planeswalker's full potential. For Ajani that means solid mana gains in 3 colours (White/Red/Green) as well as the second ability being upgraded to 6 damage which enables it to take out way more creatures.

This deck relies on Linvala and Smite the Monstrous in defence while using Tyrant of Valakut and Akoum Hellkite for offence and to help clear the opponent's creatures. Jori En works as draw while Mina & Denn, Canopy Vista and Cinder Glade convert gems for mana and loyalty gain. Mirrorpool has plenty of good targets as all except one of your creatures have 6 power or more.

Tyrant of Valakut: Tyrant is great board control with its on-summon ability. It also has a fairly good power-to-mana ratio.
Mirrorpool: This 4 mana support can either reinforce your creatures or charge your first spell in hand fully. In this deck, unless you have an urgent need to cast 2 consecutive Smite the Monstrous, it is best used for reinforcing your bigger creatures.
  • Ajani Vengeant - Level 60

    Mirrorpool
    Cinder Glade
    Hixus, Prison Warden

    Swift Reckoning
    Ondu Rising
    Demolish
    Exquisite Firecraft

    Akoum Firebird
    Embermaw Hellion
    Abbot of Kerral Keep

Ajani's strength is his versatility, far more than Nahiri with the same color choices. Ajani capitalizes on that, using red for fast, strong creatures and a little bit of cascade to speed things along. Demolish and Firecraft add more versatility, combined with Ajani's own Helix for more health/damage and Swift Reckoning with his Sundering Slash. Hixus gives a little bit of board control, Mirrorpool enhances those creatures, and Ondu Rising is a highly underrated life-gain spell that can easily refill Ajani.
