How to score high in PVP. (Please help)

Can somebody please post for me the template for getting 1200 points in PVP?

I can't seem to do it and I have a great roster. (Not posting it because gamependium only seems to allow 13 updates per edit and I got over 100 on my roster.)

I can only get to 400 before the beatdowns start.

I need a step by step guide. Timing, when to sheild, how to queue up to get points and minimize by retaliation.

I do enjoy the game but am frustrated by not ever being able to place high. Once in a while would be nice.
