It is so frustrating trying to play this game where majority of the cards you want to build a deck with are locked behind RNG.

I don't know what they did when KLD came out but the drop rates are way lower. Before KLD you bought a box and if you were unlucky you wouldn't get a mythic card but many times I would get not one but two mythics so I felt justified in buying and spending money on this game to try and increase my collection and create new decks with new cards. These days I feel lucky if I get a Mythic from a BB at all, in the last 7 boxes I have got one Mythic. I hate myself a little more each time I decide to open a BB, I always wish I would just hoard the gold as it is better just sitting in my account than buying the boxes currently.

I have just stopped putting real money into buying the boxes now, it just isn't worth it at all. I might buy an exclusive that comes out if it is good because I get to choose the card, I haven't bought any since KLD has come out because all the really good ones are won in events. The exclusives are more Pay to Lose these days as they are mostly bad cards that you struggle to play (looking at you Depala and Bristling Hydra icon_razz.gif)

Luckily I play in a top 10 (most of the time anyway) and I rank high enough most times in events to get mythics and this seems to be the only reliable source these days. I really don't see how new players can get into this game at all now and you have a card game where people try to show off decks and such which majority of players will never be able to build.

I have been playing this game for nearly a year now and if I started playing now on a new account I wouldn't stay, I would leave after a month or two as there is no longer any progression unless you are at the top.

People have been complaining all over the forums since the beginning of time it seems about drop rates but it is clearly worse now than it was before. What is even worse is that it was done without notification and no one from D3 has ever replied. There is a thread in suggestions which was on 8 pages last time I looked and still no response.

I love this game, part of the reason I love this game is I like to experiment with new decks but to do that I need new cards. But it seems I need to sell my soul to the devil to get a bit of luck for a few new cards so I can try some crazy decks or just drop a ton of cash into the game to try and get a mythic from a BB and hope that it is one I actually want and not a dupe.

    I agree 100%

D3 is loosing out on valuable customer support of their product. I have yet to recommend this product to a single friend of mine since its one giant money pit. D3 can cite the fact that the game can be played free with no investment into the game from a consumer. I counter that statement with the fact that any new player that goes that rout has way more weight into there BB purchase as they had to work hard to get those 600 crystals. Than you take all of that and punish the mas majority of new players by giving them little to nothing in return for all of there hard work due to such abysmal drop-rates. Than you look at all the competing products trying to get people to invest money into their program only to find they have a better return on investment for cheaper money. That and competing products give you a viable alternative to duplicates. Receiving runes as a fresh newbie seems like a good idea until the reality of the situation sets in and they realize they are getting ripped off on not only the purchase but the useless refund on the multiple items they just spent hours investing time in. This situation gets much much worse when you factor in people spending real cash on this game.

This post has little to no chance of actually affecting D3's opinion on this matter but it's therapeutic typing it. icon_e_biggrin.gif

I believe in consumers being able to make informed decisions. The best info we have so far is here: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58518&p=632519#p632519. Decide if those odds are worth your coin. Personally I'm FTP, but for a new player starting now, I guess it could take quite some time to become competitive without some spend.

The problem is if people knew the odds going into the purchase D3 would loose massive amounts of $$$. People make irrational decisions all the time but the majority of D3's business model is built upon praying on hope. icon_twisted.gif
