2* Team Opinions

So right now, I am slowly accumulating and building up some 2* heroes. I just want some opinions on which path I should go. Some teams I had in mind:

Ares/Thor
OBW
Wolvie

Ares/Thor
C. Storm
MN Mags

Ares/Thor
C. Storm
Wolvie

Right now, I only have 4 Ares covers, 6 Thor, 5 Storm, 2 MN Mags and 1 Wolvie.

    I like the first option as that's going to be good for you on both offense and defense and cover all colors. C. Storm+MN Mags is better on offense, but they're pretty terrible on defense so the first option is better in PvP. C. Storm by herself doesn't synergize well with Wolvie/Thor/etc since she only adds a blue ability to that composition.
  • I'm gonna be a little different and offer you another 2* Hero that you can use with Thor/Ares + OBW - Daken.

    He works out pretty well at Level 69, meaning that

    (1) OBW still gets Espionage damage (double strike tile damage);
    (2) You don't need to spend the extra to level cap him (saves you give or take 30K ISO);
    (3) He generates free strike tiles, freeing up your AP for use on Thor/Ares without having to worry about whose power to use;
    (4) You do full damage on the rainbow with Thor/Ares + OBW (but you do lack an active skill in Black).

    Furthermore, saving ISO means you can use that ISO to transition to 3* faster, which costs a **** ton of ISO.

    If you wish to disregard all I said, use your first team. icon_e_smile.gif
  • I would prefer the second team, as it gets you the most color coverage. In particular, you can use Magneto's Polarity Shift to generate AP for Storm's whirlwind attack. Polarity Shift can almost always generate a critical tile, and you can team that up with Thor and put a real hurt on someone.

    C.Storm + MN Mags is a great tag team. But, they're extremely weak on defense: whittle C.Storm down with match damage until you can KO her with a single attack (to avoid Raging Tempest), kill the third character, then kill MN Mags at your leisure.

    Ares/Thor + AWolv + OBW provides a much greater challenge.
  • True, but I've never been a fan of having two almost completely overlapping tanks (even if they are a massive deterrent). It tends to limit your tactical options as you go. I tend to compensate for this in PvP tournaments by playing enough matches to keep my ranking. (I seem to be attacked a lot anymore).

    Not only that, also the AI is pretty dumb when playing Mag's Polarity Shift, and I mean REALLY dumb, so basically on defense you have basically zero chance to get a Wind Storm off, unless your opponent got a really bad starting board and/or didn't care about the AI collecting blue tiles.

    C.Storm/MN Mags/MNThor is my everyday PVP combo, since my OBW at level 61 is basically just a moving target (more than it already is at level 85) and usually I'm really surprised if I manage to get more than 3 defensive wins with that team. This means that you have to win an awful lot of matches on offense to gain back the lost points, but usually that's not a problem, since with that team a match usually doesn't last more than 3-4 minutes.

    Honestly I'll try to get the first option running, possibly with Ares. Quite good HP-wise, hits like a truck with low AP requirements, only lacking a black active skill.
