To champ..or not to champ...

Ok...i am finally starting to have a "decent" roster. I have about 12 champed 4*s, but only 2 of my 5*s have more than 4 covers. So I'm still basically a 3-4* guy who throws OML in where i can. Now I'm not sure what's best, I have many many 4*s with between 5-10 covers on them. These are solid characters like Nova, Kate, Bucky, and Cyke to name a few. However, I have 13 covers for both Elektra and Venom, characters I dont particularly like (I basically just use Venom cuz he has a yellow that actually does some dmg). Should I level any character to 270 before working on ones that cant go above 172-209? Or is it still better to have say a lvl 209 Bucky or 188 Kate than a 270 Elektra?

It depends on your ISO situation. If you have a lot, go ahead and champ them. I've got Elektra champed and she is ok. I'm still trying to sort out who really works well with her. With her and venom I would say wait until you get their 14th covers. That advice changes for cyclops and nova, champ them asap. As for the rest, level them high enough to beat their CoT for the LT.

To the OP: In the 3-star tier its easy to tell people to champion people as soon as you have the 13th cover, but in the 4-star tier the amount of iso it takes to champ a character is 3x as much, so that has to be a consideration. The problem becomes worsened by the potential of lost dupe covers that could be used for champ levels. My advice is... if you are planning on champing Electra (or anyone else) eventually, champ them when you have the opportunity and don't worry if they are an elite character or not. If iso is a concern and you have another, better, 4-star on the vine then hold-off and see what comes your way.

Got the t10 of 4s champed?
Go with the covers, champ everyone.

Don't have the top guys champed?
Hoard until you get the covers you need, sell off covers.

Unless you have millions of iso, save it for the better characters. Having a couple of champed 4 stars will make your scaling worse. Electra and Venom aren't good choices to deal with that.

If you don't like them, I wouldn't champ them (or at least only do so if you have covers expiring). At some point in the future you'll need that ISO for someone you actually do enjoy using.
