Why I'm So Tinykitty Angry

It's been questioned recently why I'm quite supportive in other communities, yet so angry here. No one seems to actually want to ask me directly, so let's just lay it ALL out.

**Misspelled and grammatically incorrect cards -- seriously -- we put money into this game the least you can do is proofread.

**Ineffective and redundant support -- remember that first event when we got Forgotten Creation as a progression reward? I still haven't received it. Support is so inept and frustrating that I've decided to just not use it anymore. Why am I going to spend 10 minutes entering my UID, platform, etc when I'm just going to get a response 3 days later asking me for all of that info again? If it has to do with something I spent money on, I'll ask Apple to fix it. Other than that, what's the tinykitty point?

**Contempt towards top players and teams: Now I will say that MOST of this comes from one person, but he's allowed to do it and it *upsets me*. Top players worked hard to get there -- top teams work hard to stay there. If you're good enough, there is a spot for you on a top 10. I placed someone today who has been playing 6 weeks after only 2 events. If you want to play top 10, join a feeder or development coalition-- and put the work in. You'll get there. If you don't, stop berating people who enjoy the high level of competition.

**Ch-ch-ch-cheaters.

**Priotities:
1. Make our eyes bleed with graphics no one cares about.
2. Screw up events we love by adding ridiculous objectives and changing the reward structure.
4. Completely disregard the new player experience.
5. Ignore repeated requests for deckslots and more story mode because new graphics are more important.
6. Tease us with a development thread that you stop answering and never do again.
7. 3.3 in FS is still freezing when you click pause at the wrong time. 2.3 is still barely playable -- aka broken events over and over.
8. All the other broken stuff.
9. Did I mention no one at Hibernum cares about the new player experience?
10. The fact that this, like everything else is going to fall on deaf ears.

** Deckbuilding contests being put in completely different forums.

** Matchmaking. Always matchmaking.

    Hi bken!

Threads like this which keep us informed as to why the player base is so unhappy are pretty informative. Any chance you could post them on a regular basis?

    Hi shteev,

As I am preaching the importance of regular communication, I think that's a good idea. Perhaps weekly?

This game is in a rocky state right now, I feel like there should be a big "under construction" sign put up on the main screen.

Deep down, I think it's a small team working on the game, and that they are doing the best they can, but honestly, their lack of communication with the community is downright insulting to the player base who has been sticking with this game under the worst conditions. We voice our concerns, over and over again, and very little response is given. I know they're listening, but I don't know if they agree or disagree with what we're saying.

I think it's time they step up their game. Especially now that they're bringing MTG Pros into the mix.

Wholeheartedly agree that there is clear money being spent on updating the graphics, which are purely cosmetic and no one gives two hoots about. When it could be being spent on people who can fix the bugs.

You can argue all day UX/UI don't work on the same things. BUT they are all being funded for from the same pot, and that pot is filled by us. Listening to us once in a while wouldn't hurt right?

my request of pinning THE prioritisation thread has failed so yeah it might be good idea to rinse and repeast OBVIOUS issues. I mean seriosuly some of the issues you wouldnt even pass your college project and yet they have dignity to ask you for your hard earned dollars to stay competitive

I'm always so bumfuzzled why Devs never understand that communication with the players can go a long, long way towards keeping profits up. If people feel like their concerns are being listened to, they stay longer, and are more willing to pay money. If they feel like their concerns are being ignored, they leave.

It seems like it would be simple economics to have one Devs say that, once a week, they will spend an hour on the forums going back and forth with people here. One hour a week seems like a reasonable request, and a reasonable way for the Devs to get more money at the same time.

Looking at the list of issues, I am inclined to think that they are running under a small team and is having a hard time coping with the massive number of change requests.
Those that are working hard behind the scenes, and yet are unable to reveal the truth to us, I applaud and appreciate their efforts.
Usually, the root of the issue lies with the management and not the regular hardworking staffs in the team.

    To the management:
If you're understaffed, just get more people to do it.
In this competitive world of mobile gaming industry, if you're going to keep players staying in a game, you really need to manage our expectations better by communicating more with us.

I wish i had an active game account so i could have something to contribute to this discussion.

Instead I'll just say, i too feel slightly miffed about the state of the development of this potentially enjoyable game.

Thanks. Alve messaged me before I posted, looking into it for me.

    Hopefully soon.

EDIT - Also Brigby has messaged me indicating the same. Thanks to both for checking in with me.

This is something I've said months and months ago, multiple times. It's really sad how such a simple thing to boost morale is ignored or just mishandled.

I think, instead of "new player" experience, "low level player" would be more accurate. As a low level player, I can say with absolute certainty that the experience can be Very depressing at times. Partly for one of the reasons that you stated, "Matchmaking". Another is just being stuck. Progression is so difficult at times it seems like the reward isn't worth the work required. I enjoy the game, but there are too many times where it just gets far too frustrating to be worth the effort. And when a game, (something that's supposed to be fun and relaxing), requires actual effort or feels like work, then it losses most of its appeal.
