Trade spare runes for... <<insert ideas here>>

I am sure this topic have came up in the past...

But would like to renew it to the top of the list here.. also the forum admin did not post anything there to acknowledge it has even been read...
Hoping for a kind "thank you for suggesting this! We will implement this/that or if not internally discuss and plan viable solution for future updates"
I have *almost* all the PWs maxed level 60... (just missing Tezzeret and Saheeli rai who this forum have informed me "may" return to vault... also as of this date, the upcoming Nissa V2.0)
... and... well over the runes required to max all of them out when they do what they mean to rotate them in to the vault... (I hit quick battles enough...)
from what gathered here, the past suggestions of extra runes usage were:
1) Upgrade basic PWs beyond lvl 60
Pros: Gives new players who are unable to acquire crystals as fast as the game loves to rotate them out a slight edge over each other.
Cons: Not much point... cos the Dev are following the wizard's decision to make multiple versions of PW editions.
2) Bring back an old system where basic boosters of 3 cards can be bought with runes.
Pros: Gives great returns to older players who like me have panted up a lot of runes.
Cons: May cripple newer players who are temped to use runes on boosters therefore unable to level up their newer PWs.
3) Exchange them for crystals at an Extortionist rate 10K to 5 ?
Pros: Gives players a chance to actually make up the remaining cost for the PWs rotating in to vault before their Mysterious disappearance into the void... ForEver!!! *Da Horror!!
Cons: May cripple newer players who are temped to use runes for crystals therefore unable to level up their newer PWs.
4) Gift runes to fellow Coll Mates! Eg. Host an Inter Coll challenges Rewards!
Pros: Increases Coll Family spirit! I would love to farm up s for inter coll rewards!
Eg. Congrats! your new member hit 1K all time coll contribution! Here's 1000
or <<fellow member>>, I challenge you to a dual next event! the higher ranker gets gifts the difference of ribbons scored, do you accept!
or <<member1>> Vs <<member2>> in score... I provide gifts to winner while loser strives to be better next event...
Cons: a Whole new can of worms... Eg. Why you no give ?! easy to solve... He/She no give, I Give ! (it's just runes... and that they made the effort already grows the coll...)

6)follow up on PastrySpider's idea, Card Slots limit break! Eg spend runes to upgrade card slot points: eg. Koth at level 60 can has 10 creatures | 6 spells | 3 supports
lets have top up more runes to a maxed PW so we and unlock Koth +2!
so we can choose a max +2 of any card TYPE limit!
So a +2 Koth would have 10 creatures | 6 spells | 5 (3+2) supports
Or a +2 Koth would have 10 creatures | 7 (3+1) spells | 5 (3+1) supports
Well this is a forum... what do you think?
I'll visit often and be happy to be wowed-by and cheer on your ideas !

P.s: Only the 3rd and 6th ideas is mine and not very original too It was borne out of this man's wish for a happy more interactive Coll, so hoping to generate ideas with everyone here...

I have all PWs at lvl 60 and a lot of runes to spare.0 -
I agree. I have 600,000 runes and would like to receive duplicates of mythic and rare cards crystals0

Here is my proposal on how to mitigate the following issues: card duplicates, mastery tiers usefulness, and excess amount of runes of seasoned players.
Each player gets up to 1 ticket per day that allows them to exchange some of their duplicate cards for a new random card. Card rarities are determined by that player's card mastery tier:-
A bronze tier player gets 1 bronze ticket per day; can have up to 1 bronze ticket in their inventory; can exchange 1 bronze ticket, 10 common duplicate cards (and some crystals fee) to get a new random common card.
A silver tier player gets 1 silver ticket per day; can have up to 1 silver and 2 bronze tickets in their inventory; can exchange 1 silver, 2 bronze tickets, 10 uncommon and 20 common duplicate cards (and some crystals fee) to get a new random uncommon card; also can exchange the same as bronze tier players.
A gold tier player gets 1 gold ticket per day; can have up to 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze tickets in their inventory; can exchange 1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze tickets, 10 rare, 20 uncommon, and 40 common duplicate cards (and some crystals fee) to get a new random rare card; also can exchange the same as silver tier players.
A platinum tier player gets 1 platinum ticket per day; can have up to 1 platinum, 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze tickets in their inventory; can exchange 1 platinum. 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze tickets, 10 mythic, 20 rare, 40 uncommon, and 80 common duplicate cards (and some crystals fee) to get a new random mythic card, also can exchange the same as gold tier players.
Tickets can be traded, not directly between the players but via the system, with some limits based on players' supply and demand.
Let's say the limit is 1000. At the start the score is 0. Players can keep selling tickets (without anyone bying them) until the score reaches 1000. Then new sales are not allowed until someone else buys a ticket, the score falls to 999 and one new sale is allowed.
Similarly for the other direction; players can keep buying tickets (without anyone selling them) until the score reaches -1000. Then new purchases are not allowed until someone else sells a ticket, the score rises to -999 and one new purchase is allowed.
Ideally, players would be buying them in the same amount as selling them, and the limit serves to smooth the timezones differences.
Otherwise, personally I think it would be better if demand is higher than supply, so players will always be able to sell their unused tickets to help level their PWs.
The price of tickets could be 250 runes for a bronze one, 500 runes for a silver one, 1k runes for a gold one and 2k runes for a platinum ticket.
This would effectively mean that a bronze tier player could get 250 free runes per day, a silver tier player 500 runes per day, a gold tier player 1k runes per day, and a platinum tier player 2k runes per (assuming there is sufficient demand of other platinum tier players to buy them).
Also one new random common card costs 250 runes (plus duplicated cards and crystals), an uncommon card costs 1k runes (1*500+2*250), a rare card costs 3k runes (1*1k+2*500+4*250), and a mythic card costs 8k runes (1*2k+2*1k+4*500+8*250).
Of course, all numbers are subject of balancing.0 -
Honestly, I suggest doing nothing to change runes. Any change which allowed purchase of crystals or packs or trading dupes will hugely benefit long standing players with massive rune counts who are not the ones who really need help in this game. Its the new players who need more cards to keep them interested and competitive. Furthermore, changes which increased the availability of packs or allowed swapping dupes would inevitably have to be compensated for by decreasing drop rates in packs.
The only good thing I can come up as an alternative thing to spend runes on are quality of life and cosmetic changes. For quality of life, they could use runes to unlock the long asked for deck slots. For cosmetic, best idea I can come up with is alternative card art (such as the new demolish in KLD).0 -

Unlock deck Slots! oooo GREAT idea! me like...
But new Alternate card versions...Foil cards! Shiny!!! hmmm... MTG cards are not like Marval PQ's hero covers... they are kinda fixed...even across different editions even if alternate versions are available, it would require us to download Another update of large images for those cards, may slow down game play and load time... imagine going into card view and seeing:
a) The normal card beside the alt skined one (new player be like Waaa~~... i thought i had this card..?!)
b) Error: unfortunately your card search filter by editions is broken.
Siri Please find me "xyz".... (condescendingly)" searching for "xnjaduyzsdnxhzkjsgasbh""
Also imagine the horror if i steal my opponents alt skin creature but of the same card... And the game registers it as a new creature and don't merge them... (unlikely but hey! could happen)0
