Hexproof creature killed by smite the monstrous [Solved]

Okay, I know there has been changes to what "hexproof" means... but should a hexproof creature ever be able to be targeted and destroyed by Smite the Monstrous?

Opponent summoned Kor Entanglers, which disabled my first creature - Gaea's Revenge, and then my opponent cast Smite the Monstrous targeting my "hexproof" creature.

disabled hexproof can be targeted, I don't think this is
a new thing. it's quite difficult to disable a creature
that has hexproof which you can't target as it stands.
my opinion is it makes the game more balanced.
otherwise you just need rogues passage with gaeas
revenge and the battle is pretty much all over.
