Looking for a new 4* championing strategy

Tl;dr version: should i champion 4* as I get covers (Electra and Flaptain next in line) or give ISO to better ones. I am already at 18 champions.

I was thinking about working on my 5* but I was put back to Earth with some thoughtful comments from the forum members. That means I am back to the original plan of getting as many 4* championed as possible and hoard CP in the meantime.

Where I stand: I have 18 4* championed (all the top ones non named Peggy and some weird Dinos and staff). So now, not counting the new releases that I like a lot (Medusa and new Marvel but they are under covered) i am looking to champion the mid-low level ones.

The question I need advise on is: should I champion them as they come or still priorities the stronger ones (even if I don't have the extra cover to get LT)?

Example: I have Electra cover that will expire in 20 days (hehe - I have Daredevil in my queue and his next champion level gives Electra). I also have Flaptain cover that expires in 26 days (via 3* Falcon) and I have 200k ISO. In reality I might be able to champion them both but should I give them the iso or rather bring up somebody else to max?

My max covered 4* are: Mr Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Electra, Prof X (but without dupe he is winfinity so not him), Flaptain, Venom, Miles, Drax, Carnage, The Awesome H, Spider Gwen. Plus Kate Bishop lacks one cover, WarMachine needs 2 blue, Winter Soldier needs one blue, GRider needs one green and Peggy needs one cover (red or blue).

Of this list would consider Carnage as he is good for defense when boosted and TAH as he works well with Rhulk. Splashing 120CP on Peggy is an option but wanted to reserve that for when I draw Yellow cover number 6. Kate is great but not maxed covered yet.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Eh, ISO is plentiful. Level people up as the need arises.

I understand that championing as they come is the advice. In that case I would probably need to choose two out of three. Since IW will be given in the next PvE after Groot I am looking at a +20 day window for Electra, IW and Flaptain. Not an easy call here. What I might do is sell the Falcon 3* cover for ISO and postpone the Flaptain cover till the next one. Can't do the same with Daredevil as I have 4 covers in the queue.

Always go with the covers once you have the top 4s champed.

Champ the one you have the most covers for.
In case of ties, roll a dice.

After the top tier, all remaining 4s are CP and LT dispensers.

Of those that you have max covers of, whether you have extra covers or not for them, which ones do find the most fun the play with? The tactic you’re taking, champing all the 4* before you move on to use CP on the 5*’s, is a good one, but it’s going to be a long road. Might as well fill your busride with characters that keep the game fun for you.

Of the ones you list, I would champ Cho Hulk , Invisible Woman (she’s on my list too) or maybe Carnage ( I get perverse kick out of using him in PVP). I find the new Cho is fun, especially when boosted – green ap feeder and larger health tank. Think of him as a 4* Scarlet Witch and pair him with Red Hulk (or Teen Jean. Or Moon Knight.) He also makes a good 3rd for the 4*Thor/IM40 combo. But since you have them all fully covered, try playing around with them in trivial PVE nodes to see which ones you like.

Here’s the thing people sometimes overlook, if you’ve got 18 champed 4*’s (and judging by process of elimination, those champs you have are probably some of the better 4*’s in the game.) then you can handle anything this game is going to throw at you, especially if you aren’t leveling your 5*s. You’ll always have 2 or so boosted for the week, and even the ones who aren’t boosted, will still tip most fights in your favor. Champ #19 or #20 isn’t really going to change your overall playing experience, even with Peggy.

Except for fun! So pick someone you get a kick out of, whether it’s the character or just pulling off a move or combo with them. Don’t worry about selling a cover of someone else if you're keeping just doing it out of obligation of having it in your queue. I’m on day 1176 and believe me, there will always be another Elektra cover. But if you don’t like playing her (like me) don't sweat getting the 1000 iso.

@Tatercat - you might be onto something. I am feeling obliged to max Electra as i will have her cover but I know that I will not play her even once outside of the crash and I can beat the crash as she is now. On the other hand Carnage or Cho give me something new when boosted that I might use.

So maybe stockpiling ISO until the cover I actually care to have championed comes in is a better option... I will give it a serious thought.

When they are done - Miles, Drax, Flaptain, Electra, Mr Fantastic, Spider Gwen and Venom. With Peggy, Kate, War Machine, Winter Soldier and GRider overtaking anybody on that list (well Miles will keep number 3) when I get them to max cover. l

I think you are going in the right direction. I have 27 4*s champed. At this point, I will only champ one if RNG/rewards has thrown me at least 3+ covers that I could use. If I have a tie, I always go with the one that sounds interesting/fun to play.
