Mirrorwing Dragon - WTH were you thinking?

I just pulled Mirrorwing Dragon from a SoI pack and it just struck me how rubbish and unlike the original paper version it is.

You had a chance to make a really interesting and unique card out of it, but instead made it so pathetic that it rivals Mind's Dilation and Mindwrack Demon for the bottom of that set's Mythic collection. And it was supposed to be a paid exclusive! Like Olivia! And Ulrich! And Gisela!

Okay, maybe the original spell copying effect would be difficult to implement (really?), or too overpowered (debatable, since its effect would actually cut both ways!). You could then have made the card more affordable mana-wise (the original paper version is pretty cheap), or given a copy of the spell used to the owner's hand, or made it deal an amount of damage that does more than tickle anything but the lowest rabble (3-4 perhaps?), or included the planeswalker as target of the damage. As it is, it is a strictly inferior version of Tyrant of Valakut -- same cost, less power and creature damage that requires casting three spells on it to match it. And never mind the PW damage.

Shame cards don't seem to get tweaked like they used to...

Slightly edited the title // Alve

Here! Here! Thought exactly the same. Struggle to see why it's a mythic in its current form.

    I don't think it's total ****.

In my opinion, the problem is that this card (like many others) are compared to some overpowered cards, especially from that set.

    Regards!

This one, I have to disagree. Mirrorwing, in my opinion, actually beats Tyrant on creature removal. Tyrant does the six-point barrage, but ONLY when it enters the battlefield. Mirrorwing may deal less damage, but considering the cheap pumps you can target onto him in red, there's much more value. Yes, the initial cost sucks as much as Tyrant at twenty, more if you take the spells into account, but for 8/8, 10/10, and so on, you have to cast Tyrant twice for 12 damage (40 mana), whereas Mirrorwing can do the same with a cheap pump (like Sure Strike) for the cost of as low as 26 mana (20 for the dragon, 6 for 6 Sure Strike.) Add that spells like Inner Struggle can't remove this guy as it can with Tyrant, and this dragon does earn its place.
