New animations have got to go

So I just spent the better part of an hour hoping that my phone would unlock so that I could finish an event against torrential gear hulk. Alas, to no avail and I was forced to kill the app, squandering a timer.
Normally I wouldn't care but I've heard this same problem from others in my coalition as well as this forum.
The new animations for energy and fabicate have become too cumbersome for the game to handle. It's so bad that I have to wonder, was this even tested on an actual phone or tablet before pushing the update? I mean i understand that many have emulators and such that they play on and I'm willing to bet the devs test on them as well...but before an update gets pushed shouldn't it be tried on a device?
My phone is no slouch. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge running stock android. This lag and freezes occur even when I bring the phone up from a fresh boot.
Bottom line is between the lock ups, and the time it takes to apply EACH AND EVERY fabricate, the current set just makes even finishing a game difficult.
If you're going to keep the format with energy and supports for fabricate, then may you need to look at reducing or simplifying the animations, much like you did with the ribbon graphics. Doesn't matter which one it is to me.
I'd much rather have a simpler looking game that functions correctly than a shiny one that won't work.

I keep reading that people are having trouble with animations for fabricate. Strange since I never see it on my device (iPhone 6s)
However as a tip to maybe help in the future, don't try to knock down the first creature as you'll have to set through the animation all over again. My best strategy has been to use a lock down strategy with Dovin Baan. Run Suppression Bonds, Claustrophobia, and Captured by the Consulate. This will let him populate as many servos as he wants without there being a threat to you, and without having to watch it animate over and over again.
Additionally, as you get the match going, you can play Empyreal Voyager, and with Dovin's third support emblem, you can get to the point of energizing the entire board, which will keep him from playing more servos and let you destroy the ones that are in play.0 -

I think you're kind of missing the point on this. Doesn't matter if you can avoid them with a lock down deck. There will be moments where other colors that dont use lockdown will be needed, like black or red.
The whole point of this is to bring up that there is more than likely room for improvement in the UI or the coding of the animations.
Not what a deck strategy should be.0 -
Same issue here. Between servos, energized gems, clues, etc., the game gets extremely laggy. So frustrating that I end up not caring about the outcome of a battle, I just want it to be over so I don't have to wait forever while the dozens of animations try to play out. I really hope they figure out a way to fix this.0

For the hell of it I tried out some energized gem effects on my note 5 and same issues as stated above. This makes one wonder what devices the devs are testing on since many are reporting new(ish), high spec phones with issues. Or are they seeing the same things the users do but roll out the patches anyway? /frustrating0

No. I get it. But in the short term, where we know certain fights are some of the main offenders it makes sense to use a strategy that can mitigate the problem while it's being solved, since it obviously wouldn't be fixed before the nodes refreshed and the poster tried the battle again.
Of course the root problem needs to be addressed, but I'm also trying to offer advise as an immediate solution rather than just complain.0 -

players are changing their strategy we are opting for weaker decks sometimes even loosing so we can keep our sanity and not going through laborious process of seeing 5+ of the same fabricate animation when 1st creature is replaced (not even knocked down as defender also changes the order)
Here is a quick fix that will keep glorious UX dept happy and keep players sanity:
how about making fabricate animation work and trigger simultaneously for all gems rather than one by one.
and another quick fix which I will happily pay for:
Create a low-fi DLC without animations and plane blank gems without any effects. just a normal plain colours without any animations to worry about.0 -
It's not only a new gem animation issue. Since the last patch, matches are laggier in general. The worst offender is Deploy the Gatewatch - as soon as I hit the mana to cast, my phone becomes a slideshow until it's done.0

I don't have the card myself, but has anyone dared to cast Great Aurora during the Gearhulk battle? I can imagine that takes forever...0
-
I have actually...it speeds up as it goes. I'm assuming because its freeing up resources.0

Huh. I have the same phone as the OP, the Galaxy S7 Edge, and I've never seen a crash. It handles fabricate "fine", by which I mean painfully slowly but I assume at the speed the visual effects are designed to occur. If fabricate was a single animation for all Servo gems there'd be no problem at all.0

For me in an iPhone 6s, the animations aren't a problem but it gets bogged down immensely whenever there are lots of servos out. I think it's more the calculations of the buffs to the first creature that are doing it rather than animations since it persists even after the animations are gone.
As far as energize, I've still not encountered a problem. A fully energized board runs the game at the same speed as normal. Possibly that's based on the phone model?0
