Fabricate matches are slow, tedious, and painfully boring

Fateful showdown event, Node 2 Encounter 3. AI spams fabricate every turn as its ability.

This matchup is ridiculous. The optional objective is to summon at most 2 creatures, so one primary strategy is to play a creature than can get pumped, while keeping control of the board. Definitely can't zerg through the match.

I was using Kiora with Noyan Dar, and included both Moon and Frog. Every time a creature is destroyed or shifted on the AI's side, the bloody fabricate animation kicks in for each and every fabricate token on the board and it takes forever. Not to mention all of the fabricate tokens slow the game down big time threatening to crash the application.

This is just some feedback to let you know that these types of matches where fabricate is being spammed endlessly are painful and boring. I learn nothing from the matchup, and hate every moment of it as a match that should take maybe 3-4 minutes tops gets dragged out over 10 minutes.

This is a game that needs to be enjoyable. If something is going to take 10+ minutes, then it better be the final encounter of the Avacyn event and worth a huge chunk of ribbons.

Agreed. The animation, time to apply the bonuses for all of the fabricate (and other) supports is painful.

I found it not to be a problem, but going into it at this point I learned the answer is keep the first creature disabled and the animations don't repeat. So I'm using Dovin with Suppression Bonds, Claustrophobia, and Captured by the Consulate. I don't worry about the first creature, and kill the second one if he summons one using Smite the Monstrous.

Also because it's Dovin, summon Empyreal Voyager and any other one creature and get his third ability support. You'll eventually overload enough that your creatures will get larger every turn and voyager will energize the entire field making it impossible for him to place more servos.

Those are some good suggestions I might try out.

I was hoping to just use a couple planeswalkers, since we can't save deck configurations. I'm using Koth for the matches that need to finish within X rounds or need to cast no spells or supports, and I use Kiora for the others.

But perhaps this is the time to give Dovin some event time. I believe I have him at level 57 anyways. I could technically disable the first creature, then moon and frog the second and third slots.

I had him at 57 last time around and was able to do it icon_e_smile.gif

My deck list if it helps:
    Empyreal Voyager
    Multiform Wanderer
    Aetherstorm Roc
Linvala, the Preserver - this one is iffy. You can't play it if he has three creatures since you won't hit your summon only two with it out, so its worth replacing if you're going to use imprison in the moon or turn to frog. Also the defender can hurt you if you can't buff her up early enough. Considering replacing it with Gisela for the event.
    Aether Hub
    Suppression Bonds
    Captured by the Consulate
    Claustrophobia
    Smite the Monstrous
    Saheeli's Artistry
