Welcome the first wave of Community Moderators!

We've looked through the requests from users wanting to be Community Moderators and have made our first wave of decisions! We've chosen six users for now and we'll see where things net out in regards to how everything is working. These users were chosen for their general helpfulness on the boards, positive outlook on threads, and willingness to take a bit of control over some of the lesser usually moderated sub-forums. This doesn't mean that anyone that said they'd be willing was necessarily a bad choice, simply that these users were chosen to fill the gaps that we currently have in dealing with dastardly Cambridgean Kitchen Spammers and the like.

Our new Community Moderators are:
Emeryt
GT-47LM
Nonce Equitaur 2
Pandaberry6
Puritas
Riggy

Just because they're mods doesn't mean that they're suddenly not allowed to chat and enjoy the forums in the same way as anyone else. As with any new moderation position on any forum, Admins will keep an eye on things and make sure that everything keeps running smoothly as well.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me.

  • Looks like great choices all around. Happy moderating everyone!
  • It's important to have a hierarchy. That way one knows who to pay off in order to gain favor.

I sent pandaberry a box of bees. Everyone likes bees, right? They can make honey!

Think I forgot to put "Do Not Shake Vigorously Before Opening" on it though. Damn.
  • I feel like we need to make this the first thread that one of the new moderators has to lock...

kind of like when you buy a new shredder and the first thing you decide to shred is the directions (before reading them of course).

Bees are good. Wasps are better. They make... uh... wasp-honey. And don't die after they sting someone, so they can just keep on stinging. Uh... If that's important. icon_e_wink.gif

I'm totally derailing the thread (so very sorry, congrats CM's!) but no, noooo wasps are not good.
    In fact...

With apologies to whomever I stole this from, linking their photobucket was easier than uploading my own copy to imgur or something. LazyOctopus.

EDIT: I changed it from an image on the board to just a link, due to language.
  • I feel compelled to post this now...

  • What an excellent idea. Make the unnamed guy who makes troll topics on a daily basis the Com Mod.

I have an even better idea though. Make Jozier forum admin.

We mostly seem to Spam fighters, reviewing posts that have been flagged by users.
  • Yes I do. Congratulations.

    Have you played Harvester?

    Are you the Wasp Woman?
  • I look forward to helping out. Thanks for the warm welcome (and bees). icon_lol.gif
  • As promised in my campaign speech, I promise to moderate the heck out of the News and Announcements sub-forum. I'm watching you Mr. D3PCS. No funny business.

I offer my condolences to those named in the OP
  • Why do you offer condolences while quoting my message? 0_o

    Probably because you said congratulations?

I too, offer my sincerest condolences to those who have been blighted with the unenviable task of clearing up spam and all the other ungodly things that occur on this forum icon_e_wink.gif
