PvP: A new kind of shield

The problems:

1. PvP rank chasing is not fun for a lot of players.
2. PvP progression is a reliable way of getting singular 4* covers

Proposed solution: A new shield which costs X amount of HP that eliminates you from the rankings, but never causes your progression points to diminish

Reasoning:

1. There are PvP ratings in PvE, but players often decide to forgo this aspect for progression.
2. Top PvPers go far beyond progression, sometimes into the thousands of points. Progression markers are an afterthought for them, and will not hurt them.
3. You'll likely get more HP spending. Causal player who would never shield prior to this, will spend HP to climb the progression rankings.
4. More options for more players without hurting each other's style of gameplay.
5. This erases frustration from some players. Less players frustrated = more playing = more spending
