Has customer service gotten worse?

I know cs is a thankless job but honestly it seems to be getting worse and worse. The responses are often times completely irrelevant to the original message.

The apologies come off extremely half hearted especially in light of it being followed with unfortunately we cannot make it fair or amends.

Hopefully not everyone is getting a similar level of service
