Professor X Blind Spot not always activating

It seems like when I get cascades that would trigger Pro X's Blind Spot (after his invisibility is out) to boost tiles, I see matches happen but not the corresponding tile flash or banner firing. It doesn't happen when I make a match, but on cascades or when, for example, Scarlet Witch places her blue tile and it creates a match when the Professor is tanking blue. Shouldn't that cause Blind Spot to fire?
