Can someone please explain why the game requires timers at all? As most of the time events are completed on a single person bases and rewards are obtained by how much you play. And the developers want you to play the game. So why limit the amount played? Like this new event is only 24 hours long, 5 nodes, with 8 hours regen rate and 5 points given to each win. So if you win every game in that 24 hour period, you get the rewards. You lose 1 game, you are punished and will not get all rewards. How messed up is that??
And top it all off. One the games with a health bar. You miss an 8 hour period, you will not have a chance to obtain all rewards!!
So please for the love of all that is holy, get rid of the timers!! They ruin all the fun out of the game!

And again, in the holiday showdown, i will not gain rewards because the regen rate of timers is more than the time remaining. And i am sitting 55 points out of 60. Please get rid of timers!

Yup - 1 loss maximum if you wanted the progression rewards

For any ranked event, timers are absolutely needed. They're what makes sure that someone in Boston, for example, doesn't rank above someone in Los Angeles because of time zones. When the top tier is first come first serve, staggering out when you can earn points makes it more fair, though is still an admittedly imperfect system.

For untangled events, I would agree. Just give however many charges on a node you would normally give and then let the event expire when those run out or the event finishes. No need to make someone wait 8 or 16 hours to complete an event when there's no race for top ranking.
  • Timers are detrimental to those who cannot play when a timer is ticks over. For instance if that happens at 3am and you have a day time job.

Just give everyone the max attempts and if need be, figure out a better way to dish out rewards than "where do you live and how capable are you to log on every x hours".
