Account gone

I was trying to save my game as I was thinking of getting a new tablet and in the process I accidentally logged out of face book, as and aside is the save function gone? There is no sign of it on the settings.

On getting back into the game, all of my account is gone. Is it even worth bothering to file a ticket given the numerous responses on this board about how customer support doesn't answer?

I would definitely recommend still sending in a support ticket for Customer Support to take a look at your situation. They have all the tools necessary to restore accounts, and they'll be happy to help.
