No more secrecy!!!!

Seriously, it's like D3 wants everything to be a secret. Two things I'd like are:
1. Announcements on event schedules with details on what characters you need, etc.
2. Full details on game. For example, I had to SCOUR the forums to find out what the max you can hold on a boost and it was from a user post. It looks like 30. Why the SECRECY??? I had search here for determining how environment tiles are assigned! We need a stickey with all the game rules/details!

So, no more secrecy! D3 is not the (formerly) super-secret NSA surveillance program! Or maybe you are the NSA!

Drip-feeding information through the game itself is necessary to keep players coming back.

I agree about some things (like the boost limit -- I'd love it if the game warned you when you're losing boosts so you could remember to go burn some off), but I think some things benefit from secrecy and surprise. For example, I think it would be really neat if a couple of new characters or third powers for existing characters were quietly snuck into event rewards or token pools without a big announcement. I'd also love to see a very short term PvE "lightning round", like four or six hours, that shows up with no warning now and then.

Some things are definitely too secret or arcane. The whole metagame around PvE scoring and refreshes frustrates the heck out of me, even as I work within it to maximize my rewards.

    Why the SECRECY???
You want the hard as glass, straight and honest answer?
The less they tell you, the better you can get **** by the game and forced into a situation where micro-transactions became a last resort save.

It's called monetization; finding a precarious balance between player acceptance and wringing players dry.

I agree, we need more transparency.
  • What you're asking for is documentation.

That costs money, and D3P doesn't seem to think it's worth the cost. Players are writing on the wiki to give some documentation.

To be honest, you're asking for more documentation than most video game developers will put out. Also consider the maximum boost amount might change. Then D3P has to pay somebody to update the documentation. And this game is still changing a lot.

I would like more communication from them about events so we know which covers we need to be saving/leveling.
