Event reward changes

Based on the **** event and the new Emrakul event, silver tier no longer has the ability to earn mythics and there are no coalition rewards for either event.... How are people supposed to be able to build into gold level decks without being able to earn mythics... the drop rates are a joke. I am at 8 big boxes opened and zero mythics received and still only have a tiny handful of mythic cards from various draws in 3 months...

i'm doing pretty well with only 15 mythics, sitting in platinum. i'm NOT disagreeing about drop rates sucking, but mythics aren't necessarily needed to play well.
I believe the devs are trying to fix the issue of all of the high-leveled players staying too long in silver or gold tier just to farm the ranked rewards. making these players move up (if they want mythics) will help out the newer players who are struggling just to get started...0 -
number of crystals also got reduced...0

Basically you have to spend an enormous amount of $$$$$ to get Crystals to get small chance of useful mythic being pulled from big box
forget about mythics in bronze or silver which would buff you enough to be competitive in higher tiers
PAY and CRY
D3 I know you reading this so here is a Management 101

Stop punishing people because they've missed their window and despite having perfect score they've missed on rewards because !=logic
use reward system based on points not time and eliminiate tie breakers
rather than cutting lower tiers incentivize higher tiers (MAYBE- JUST AN IDEA, in gold for 1-2 place give a user option to choose from which set he can have mythic, same with platinium)0 -
This was good, getting rid of all the platinum tiered players in silver.
Now they just need more tiers above platinum because pretty soon there will be 50 first place ties here.0 -
This is just a knee-jerk reaction to a recent change. If you're not looking at the big picture, you will see it as a detriment.0

Look you're not going to be top 5 as soon as you move into the next tier. That's not how games work. It's called progression.
Now they need to do something about the platinum players slumming it in gold tier.0 -

You can obtain mythics from opening booster packs. Booster packs can be obtained by playing the events and completing the progression rewards. You can also obtain them from the 8 hour free packs, and from the daily/monthly reward packs. In addition to winning boosters, you win crystals, which can then be used to open big boxes. How do you think a paying player gets Mythics? By forking over cash for crystals, then opening big boxes.
With events running much more frequently, ie. every day, you can win an additional booster and crystals every day. There is something called an economy, so if you tunnel vision yourself into one particular change (ie. reduced mythics in the leaderboard) then you will of course think the change is a detriment instead of looking at the entire economy as a whole.0 -

apart from pointing out the obvious of (just be lucky and get something which is near impossible form free boosters pack) I still dont see how someone who just advanced to Gold tier can be competitive and not be a meat for other players, being essentially an easy win for others.
I am trying to look from new players perspective.
If you just started playing this game you are screwed.
You have failed to provide valid points on how this new system puts new players in favour against how it was working before 1.9 update0 -

Ob nixilis full of removal (and a altar reap, bone splinter pavkage to fill space) in black.
nahiri full of costed rare and uncommon cheap critters and all the decently costed removal that justs spam the -9.
Koth being koth.
Blue and green are trickier but max progression should be doable.
Jace 2 with eldrazi incubator and basically any assortment of blue creature from eldrich moon should be fine too.0 -
new player here less than 3 months playing, 16 mythics total here none solid green. honestly playing good against the ai is about stong deck construction one of my best decks is red with one mythic that i dont use if i can help it. just because it discards every turn, i use lots of kill spells charged them up and try like crazy to keep them from getting fatties out and when they do whack them down fast same round if possible. it makes for slow games but i like a win over quitting out because i had a bad start or the opponent isnt worth fighting agaisnt because they can have good deck. just me i guess0
