Transition from 1* to 2** help!

Hello! Been playing for about a month now actively and have acquired enough covers to make a transition from 1 to 2**. I've read through Polarity's guide but would love some feedback from other's in the forum! I have about 43000 ISO to spend.

Here is my current roster:

2**
A. Wolvie: 5/2/4 lvl61
MN Thor: 2/1/3 lvl30
OBW: 3/5/1 lvl6
C. Storm: 2/5/2 lvl6
Bullseye: 4/1 lvl6
MN Mags: 3/2/1 lvl6
Mawkeye: 1/3/1 lvl6
Ares: 2/1/2 lvl6
M. Cap: 0/0/2 lvl6

-Due to my Wolvie cover pulls (and lack of Thor's) it looks like he will naturally become my tank. The era of "Thorverine" was before I started playing...is still a viable combo?
-Had some luck pulling some OBW covers from tokens and the last Sim event. I read she's one of the best 2** support characters. I'm leaning towards getting on the OBW train.
-I also have some C. Storm covers that should get me up to about a lvl 50 if I invest. Again I only have about 43000 ISO so should I focus on just either C. Storm or OBW?
-I love the concept of MN Mags but it seems this forum has mixed feelings about him. Worth it?
-Lastly, is it best practice to lvl up one 2** cover at a time or spread it out?

Thorverine isn't what it was, but they're still two of the best 2-stars (especially Thor) and work well together.

You'll need to focus on one of the two at this point out of OBW and Storm, and I would strongly advise OBW. Having a healer really helps.

OBW is absolutely one of the best support characters across all tiers. I just recently got enough covers to make her usable, and now she's indispensable.

The most popular 2* teams right now are Thor/Ares + AWolv + OBW, and MN Mags + CStorm + OBW. So, Thorverine (which I use) is still quite viable.

MN Mags is great as a support character for CStorm, since his purple feeds blue to CStorm. Otherwise, he's not so great. He's quite bad on defense, since the AI places blue tiles the way a drunkard plays Whack-A-Mole.

Go with OBW. I should probably update my guide to include this, but C. Storm and MN Mags only truly shine if you use them together so that Mags can feed C. Storm blue. OBW is a natural fit to your Wolvie once you get her black up to 4+ covers due to espionage, and will be generally more useful than C. Storm is on her own.

OBW and Thor are like chocolate and peanut butter - two things that naturally go great together. Between the two of them, you have a full rainbow of match damage and a use for all AP except black. Thor's going to do all the heavy lifting here, especially with his green so make sure you max that out at 5. OBW is going to feed him with her purple, but to do that she only needs 3 in purple. I'd max out her blue and black. She can actually be a very efficient damage-dealer simply matching black tiles when her black is at level 5.

I wouldn't worry too much about a 3rd. So many events require a team-up that it's actually kind of rare to get your 'main team' of 3 out together. A rotating mix is probably the way to go.

you need more covers imo. there's a lot you could potentially do, but with such limited covers, not so much now. difficult to advise based on what you currently got.

don't know if you have juggernaut, but i'd go with juggernaut/obw/x for pvp. pve obviously situational.

also, disagree with the above post. obw and thor aren't really that good together. would much rather have her paired with ares, especially if you have her healing at 5 covers.

OBW first then a red/green/yellow character -- Wolvie looks like your best bet for now although I think he's the worst of the three at level 85 (because his yellow skill is bad). If you go with Wolvie then try him out with OBW and M. Storm. Storm's black attack hits like a mother

Also, why are you saving up so much ISO? Better teams lead to more ISO so you should usually use it as soon as you get it.

If you are going to use 2* Wolvie, then you have to pair him with a character that uses yellow, Thor is obviously preferable, but without a character that uses yellow, your comp is severely hindered by Wolvie's yellow. I would work on getting your Thor or Ares up to snuff as well as a fully leveled OBW, go 3/5/5, trust me on that build. Your goal right now should be

Ares 4/4/5
OBW 3/5/5

Classic Storm is okay, but ever since her yellow nerf she's not really that great anymore, those 4 are probably the best 2*'s in the game.

Thanks for all the advice! I took yalls advice and took my OBW to lvl 61.

I'm currently playing Wolvie/OBW/M. Storm. I love the damage output of Wolverine but you all are right, the teams lack of a good yellow puts me at a disadvantage. Hopefully the MPQ gods will shine down on me and offer up some Thor covers! I love this game but damn, I'm anxious to get on the 3** gravy train. My Hood, DareDevil and Patch covers are impatiently waiting in the shadows.

we've all been there, you may even want to switch C. Storm out and but an Ares in there, while he isn't as covered as your C.Storm, I would pump him up to what you can, I think you will see a big difference in your win rate. Also if you have an Iron Man 1* he would also be preferable to C. Storm, but your C. Storm is really only good for green as you will mostly be using OBW's blue, I would have her as a sub for when you run low on health packs.
