Which 2* tank should I plug in to?
Not sure which of the these three I should try and lvl up first. Here is what I have so far-
Thor 2/3/1 lvl 30
Ares 2/4/0 lvl 25
A.Wolverine 1/3/2 lvl 6.
Which should I pump up first? Also in the long run would it be worth doing two of them so that I can play lvls longer. I could save my secondary characters by switching out tanks as they lose health.

I do not have used Ares a lot, my only 85s are 5/5/3 Wolverine and 3/5/5 Thor (used with a OBW level about 60, I really want my final covers for her).
I really like Wolfie: more "direct" damage, with less random due to generated tiles. From times to times, Thor triggers a really big cascade, doing a lot of damages, but I find Wolvie damage output more stable over time, event if he have much less life.0 -
The problem is that most 2 starred heroes don't really shine until they are level 55+. I don't think you have enough covers on any of them to get you there. Maybe Ares, but I think you will be disappointed in his perfomance at such a **** state.0

Just trying to figure out which one to get a start on. I have my IM35 at lvl 50 and need to concentrate on my next character. It does not help that I cover starved right now but not sure how to go about getting more with out the long wait time for events to end. I keep trying to position myself for either the 2* character or the 2* token. Right now from the sim I am set up to try to stay ing the 76-100 range to get 3 OBW covers. So for that reason this last sub-event I am not pushing to place to high in.0 -
You really can't go wrong with Ares/Thor/Wolv/OBW as your next transition group. They are all very good. You just have to go with where the covers fall.0
-
I find Ares to be the scariest of those, his damage especially when buffed is insane, and his green and yellow is top tier damage0
-
Thor and Ares have higher hit points than Wolverine. You've got covers better concentrated in Ares' handier powers than Thor's, I think.0

I just finished maxing Ares to 85 with a 4/4/5 build, and not only is he brutal on offense, but his is a ton of fun for me to play. I also have 85 Wolvie and Thor, but they've recently taken a back seat to Ares (I pair him with OBW, and then add Wolverine to the mix if I get to choose a third character).
Ares takes a bit more strategy in that you have to consider future moves, as the Yellow and Green powers have some consequences, but it can be very rewarding.0 -
All 3 are fine for a 2* roster. Thor/Ares are similar in power level and better than Wolvie, but honestly you need to just go where the covers take you.0

As someone who is still early 2*, combo of wolv + daken has carried me very very far, especially since I have no luck in getting covers (especially for OBW). Having self heals means I can play for much longer without healthpack use0
-
Thats where I am stuck right now is hoping to get some covers coming in. I know not to use my HP or ISO to get covers but it is hard cause I just have no luck pulling otherwise. My luck seems to be Hawkeye 3 out of 4 covers.0

Thor 2/3/1 lvl 30
Ares 2/4/0 lvl 25
A.Wolverine 1/3/2 lvl 6.
You need more covers but you wouldn't be disappointed spending iso on Wolverine.
For tank i prefer Ares than Thor. If you have a OBW.0 -
Ares. There's no point to build Thor up due to lazy Thor, even though he's perfectly fine, but it's still a waste of iso8.0

... unless getting a Lazy Thor is nearly impossible, since he'll be in packs a long time from now0

Lazy Thor is already in the standard tokens/heroic tokens. I guess if you happen to have Thor 2* covers rain down it wouldn't hurt to get him, but Ares works as a tank and doesn't get obseleted by a guy who is literally the same guy but better in every way.0 -
Both Ares and Thor will serve your 2* squad for a long time, they are still some of the best 2* heroes out there. A-Wolf took a bigger hit with the nerf stick than Thor, as losing his regen was a big part of his appeal, to me at least.
You should see where fate takes you and see who you get more covers for and go with that.
If you were going to purchase covers I would go with Thor, since you have him 3-colored already. Ares works best at 5 yellow, which you don't have a single cover of yet.0 -

Firstly, on the defense, I'd say
Ares > Thor > Wolverine.
-> Ares and Thor have more HP, so naturally they are more of a defensive threat than Wolverine, despite Wolverine's extremely painful Slash.
-> Ares has extremely hard hitting skills for all his colours, allowing him to whittle down your opponents in the event that they are careless, whereas Thor relies on getting lucky with cascades until you pull off Call the Storm.
Next, on a sustained offense, I'd say
Thor > Wolverine > Ares
-> Ares might have a higher HP than Wolverine, but Sunder drains a **** ton of HP. When you're using Ares, it's like using 2* Juggernaut. He's not gonna last very long, but damn if he doesn't hit hard. On a sustained offense however, I'd prefer the ability to either regenerate HP or just have a lot of HP; putting Ares really really low on my list.
-> Wolverine's main pull is his ability to throw out Strike tiles and Slash like a madman. I've found in my experience that using Daken helps a lot more as Daken has superior regeneration, and generates the 2x Strike tiles for every green match. Furthermore, Daken covers Purple/Black, which Wolverine doesn't.
Because of the reasons above, I run a Thor/Daken team, which covers 5 of 6 colours, and poses a threat on the defense if the opponent gets careless either way. Occasionally (like in Fearless Defenders), I use Thor/Wolverine, relying on Thor to be my yellow AP battery while I set up with Wolverine. Of course, having OBW helps a lot.0 -
Ares teamed with OBW were winners for me in the last Simulator Event. Ares needs only 5 Green for a big hit at Level 5 Green and some of this can be stolen for him by the widow. He can hit repeatedly. Sunder sounds risky but OBW can heal him even if his countdown tile is lost. If it remains he does another hit when he heals. The whole turnaround is much faster than Thor. I used Ares with OBW and Lazy Thor in Round 4 and found LT was mainly used so his Yellow could fill up Ares' Green0

I'm in a similar position - just with more covers (5/1/4 for Thor; 2/4/2 for Ares).
The Simulator let me max out Wolverine but it also let me see how much fun Ares is when he's got some decent levels to him (mine was running at about 70 with the boost) so that's where I'm planning to dump ISO when I get it.
He is in the feed line behind OBW however0
