Suggestion for Avacyn tiers

Hello,

since the events are divided into tiers (bronze, silver, gold and platinum by colour masteries, which is a problem on it's own but not part of this thread) to not let beginners go against long term players (even this does not always seem to work as intended), the Avacyn event does not provide that. Beginner or not, you all face the same opponents.

So far, that is fine for me.

Also, in the events you kind of easily get the bonuses in an event and they are just different depending on the tier.
In the Avacyn event is it quite impossible to get the 450 points for the next bonuses if you don't have the PWs or cards to beat the last stage (from my experience) before the event is over.

So, my suggestion is to give every tier it's own point goals. Just as an idea it could be 450 points in platinum tier, 400 points in gold tier, 350 in silver tier and finally 300 points in bronze tier. The other goals that come first would have to be lowered a little as well of course.

If you like or don't like this idea or have another one concering the Avacyn event, to make it less frustating for new player, please post it here. icon_e_smile.gif

Regards!

The idea behind the Avacyn event was that it is a coalition event more than an individual one. If you're going to start dividing things up in mastery tiers, you're going to have to do something about coalitions that have individuals in multiple tiers or you're going to force coalitions to require players be in a specific tier or they can't join/play in the event.

    Hello Corn Noodles,

that may have been the idea, but besides the necessity to be part of a coalition you struggle again in your own, like in any other event. You can run that event alarm the same if you take away the need to be in a coalition. In the other events you have the tiers (and I agree with the ones who say that this is a bad way to measure ingame success) which shall separate players that are new from the veterans.
In the Avacyn event it's PvE and I thought it would be easy to implement the tier distribution the way I suggested. Of course, there are other but way more work intensive ways to fix the problem that a relatively new player also has a chance to have fun in that event by reaching the bonus goals.

But your post leads me to another idea which I will post in another thread because the topic is different. Thank you! icon_e_smile.gif
