Unable to play Avacyn Event

Try to start a game and it goes to the loading screen, tries to load for about a second and I get "Something went wrong..." If I hit cancel, I just get the white unloaded UI screen. If I hit retry, "Service_Game_StartEventEcounter" comes up followed by another "Something went wrong..." The instability of this game is really getting old. First exclusive rare from event progression in a while and I'm going to miss it because this game is broken and it's a weekend event. I've restarted the app, restarted my phone, deleted the app cache, app data, the app itself and reinstalled; nothing works.

Same problem here. I also can't purchase card packs or train planeswalkers.
Is there going to be a re-run of this event reward once this is fixed? When it's just random rewards on the table, no big deal, I'll just find something else to do. But this is a card only available in this event, and we're locked out by server instability.0 -

This is also an issue for me. No sooner you click start, there's the "something went wrong" error bug. So you proceed to retry. The encounter starts but the entire board is black/white. The pause menu is missing the third objective. Each additional pause copies the second objective and each additional copy is displayed above objective one.
Example: If you pause three times, the pause menu will read:
Resilient
Resilient
Win the encounter
Resilient
...and despite the encounter just having started, the second objective will be marked as having been successfully obtained.
All this is do to a "Service_Game_StartEventEncounter" error code message. If I cannot play all weekend, I want EVERY progression award and my Heron's Grace Champion. I'll be opening a ticket for this, which means, I'll have THREE issues going simultaneously without resolve... Seriously, fix this game. It gets more buggy each update!0 -

I'm in the same boat. Second event I've been locked out of. First event, the only response I got was that it was a known issue. Getting sick of poor customer service.0

Depending on the 'compensation' I/we receive for this mess, it will likely be the last time I get locked out of an event because I will no longer be playing this game.0

I enjoy that my double post was merged into one thread when this is both a topic for General Discussion and also a Technical Issue. There was a reason it was posted in both and I'm glad that reason was missed by whoever merged the topic just for the hell of it. This game suffers from a lot of issues but it's good that they keep the forums nice and tidy at least.0

I was unable to ever load a single match in this event. I put in a ticket and I updated it through the course of the event with pictures and other pertinent information. I tried many many times over the course of the event, all days that the event was active, and was never able to successfully load a match.
Even though I have played every match in every event since I started participating in events (the first Saheeli Rai event was when I started doing events) and I have earned all progression rewards in every event, I was told by support that they would not be doing anything for me for this event.
My ticket was closed as solved with the resolution that the developers were working on a solution, but I was basically told that I was **** out of luck on any rewards that I missed out on due to the game not letting me participate in this event.0 -
I could easily see a class action law suit to address "reasonable customer expectations" for those of us who have actually put money into this game.0

This was my second time being completely locked out of an event. I was able to join this event but not able to play a single game. The last time I was locked out of an event, I couldn't even join the event. In that event, the reward was Saheeli Rai. All I wanted as "compensation" was the mythic that my coalition earned but that I did not receive. They compensated me with crystals instead. After a really lengthy email chain, they finally told me this:D3 Go! Customer Support wrote:We understand how frustrating this issue may be, however please understand we do not make these policies. In order for a player to eligible for rewards earned by their Coalition, the player must have contributed to the Event at least once. We do understand that due to the issue you experienced you were unable to do so, however we are simply unable to render the service requested.
Basically they told me too bad, so sad, go away. Ironically enough, in the last Avacyn event that I was locked out of, my coalition finished high enough to earn a rare reward which I did receive even though I did not contribute "to the Event at least once." Goes to show that this game is actually really good in spite of all the issues. Otherwise I'd be long gone. I'm still undecided if continuing to play was the right decision.0 -

At this point, I'm wondering a similar thing. One thing I do know for sure, is that it works both ways. You see, they said to me:D3 Go! Customer Support (LC) wrote:we cannot compensate for hypothetical rewards that were not earned due to the issue, we can only compensate for items that we can verify to have been earned and are missing due to this issue
Following their same logic I quickly arrived at the proper solution: they will not be receiving the hypothetical rewards that they would have earned had they decided to treat me fairly.
You see, I've already bought 4 dragon's hoards and 3 exclusive mythics. I was happy to support the game I loved, that was until they made me feel discriminated against and taken advantage of.
The one aspect they seem to be missing is that it doesn't hurt me to be a free to play player and I can still enjoy the game just as much as I would if I were paying. The only ones that really get hurt by their decision are themselves.0 -
I agree, they generally treat the player base like garbage. They act like it's our privilege to support this game financially and that we are ungrateful for complaining when they treat us like garbage.0

I asked to speak to a manager and got my topic closed with a survey request. I plan on replying to every email closing with a polite thank you for contacting us until I reach an actual human.0
