What's up with standard tokens?

Are the people behind this game such people that they've lowered the chance of pulling anything but a 1* from standard recruit tokens? I've gone 10+ days now spanning at least 40 tokens without getting anything but 1*s...twice I got 25 hero coins. That's a statistical impossibility that thesepeopleshould be ashamed of. Its disgusting how they try and **** you for every dollar.

That's just bad luck, relax and keep pulling tokens. They are NOT something you should rely on for good covers anyway.

It is just luck. I pulled an Invisible Woman from a standard token so anything is possible.
  • Most of the time I only get a 1* character as well. Every once in a while I'll get a 2*. Just recently however I pulled a 3*. That was pretty nice.

Independent chance is a ****, ain't it? 40 tokens is far, far too small of a sample size to establish with confidence that the devs are gaming the system. You'd need something closer to 10000 tokens to have something with a reliable confidence interval.
  • I pulled a hood and a spidey in the last couple weeks. Before that a long period of 1's and hp

I'm pretty frustrated as the OP said.

I have gotten lucky maybe twice and pulled something other than a 1-star cover.

What they should do is keep track of your game hours and for every 8 or 10 you should be guaranteed a 2-star or higher cover from a standard recruit token. I agree it feels like a big cash grab on the developers part to have the odds 50 to 1
  • I have cracked too many to count. I went two months with ** being my top end. Then the streak broke, and I hit a ***. But it was a daredevil. The next day I cracked one and hit a hood. I had a stockpile of ten and am superstitious, so I started cracking them. Counting the hood I hit five *** in 11 pulls. I have not been able to reproduce this luck. I am now back on the dry spell. But for a couple minutes I thought I had cracked the code.
  • I've started a personal survey where I keep tabs of everything I pull from standard tokens (nothing weird) but I also keep tabs of what I get from standard tokens that I buy with ISO. I only started recently so the sample numbers are small but:

    Out of tokens that I've won (n=32) I have had a 6.25% chance of 2* and 0% 3*
    Out of tokens that I've bought (n=21) I have had 0% 2* and 4.76% 3*

I was once sad about not having gotten any 3* from tokens so I spent 15K ISO on standard tokens and got 2 *3. Since then I buy tokens from time to time (always 3 tokens at a time) and I noticed that bought tokens were infinitely more "lucky" FOR ME than the ones I have won. In fact I will go as far as to say that for over a month of playing daily I've not had a 3* from a standard token.

SO, just maybe, if you have the ISO, go buy 3-5 standard tokens and see if that helps.

DISCLAIMER: If they are truly random than I've had some seriously weird luck good/bad to only get 3* from bought tokens.

Do NOT spend ISO on tokens. ISO is only for leveling, even more so than HP is for roster slots. You can always use some leveling while you can outgrow roster limitations.
  • Tokens are random crapshoots. With said randomness inevitably comes streaks of good and bad luck. That's how they keep you coming back; it's the gambling impulse.

As far as I'm concerned, you should never buy tokens. Don't expect them to be anything but a very minor stream of ISO as you sell covers you don't need. Anything beyond that is a bonus.
  • I pulled 3 3* in a row from standard tokens, and I haven't pulled any 3* from the heroic tokens in a long time. That's just the breaks.

Adding to what was mentioned earlier, I will collect 6 or more standard tokens, at the end of redeeming them all I will buy 1-2 more (+1000 ISO8) and I have had good luck so far, giving me 2* or better more often than not.
  • I've had really good luck pulling 2* covers from the SRC's that I get during game play. I would say 1 for every 7-8 that I cash in. And I have pulled two 3* covers in the last 2 weeks.

The only time I bought any with ISO was when I first started out to get all the color covers. And that wasn't back to back. It was one here, and a few days later there. I'll have to try the 3-4 pulls in a row to see what I get since I am swimming in ISO right now as all my current characters are at their max levels until I get more covers for them.
  • The reason you are so upset is because you're expecting 2 and 3 star covers from a standard token.... thats is straight to the point as it gets. Earn your covers though events and story. icon_e_smile.gif
  • Don't expect anything in particular to happen, that's how people get let down like yourself. Whenever I get a standard token, I just say "Oh cool, 100 iso."

If you have 3* that can be leveled then put the ISO into those.

I have not regretted buying 3 tokens here and there. If you buy at the right time you can hit a streak and if you do it feels better than finishing 1st in PvP.

When you are in the 3* transition and you have 5-6 maxed 2* and your best 3* can only reach levels 60-89 and you have 50K ISO, that's when I decided that it was worth it.

Unfortunately there's no right time or lucky streaks, since it's all RNG. One could get addicted to buying tokens, which is not a good thing. And if you do pull good covers, now you don't have ISO to level them. If you spent your HP on that, you don't have roster slots.
Imo it's better to wait for the right rewards without progressing for a week or two instead of trying to game the RNG. I was in the same situation and did buy a few standard tokens - regretted that almost immediately. The chance is not worth it however put.

So I tried it out as I said and bought 9 tokens in a row on one day. I pulled five 1*, three 2*, and one 3*.

Then today I tried it again. 9 tokens in a row. Today I pulled six 1*, and three 2*.

Today wasn't as great of a return as the other day, but still helpful. And I kinda enjoy the "gamble" type feel of it. icon_lol.gif
